Has it been confirmed yet if we were to create a new character on one of the new character only servers if said character would have the Legacy Chocobo and any other things that go along with Legacy?

I think Legacy stuff will be treated similarly to code-items (Onion Helm etc), i.e. they will be account-bound and able to be retrieved on any character.

Legacy is tied to your account so as long as you create a character with that same account you get all the benefits. The only things you'll be missing are things that were only available in 1.0.

I thought it'd be encouraging to know that there's talk of ARR outside of here and the usual places. I think it's kinda neat that my friends who I thought would never even consider playing it decide they want to give it a shot. If they don't, or don't stick around, that's fine, but at least there's been expressed interest just from watching the closing movie from the shutdown.

You're missing the point. People that play WoW drop WoW and try every new game that comes out with some modicum of potential. They did it with Rift, they did it with AION, they did it with TERA, they did it with Star Wars, they did it with Guild Wars, and some will do it here.

You're also missing the second point. People that play WoW come back to WoW once their little stint is over with whatever else they're playing and the next Xpac drops.

This is why I was confused that it was somehow news that some random WoW players were interested in abandoning their addiction for a temporary fix of another drug.

Having read the OF quite a bit, I can say without a doubt that BG tops the OF on stupidity quite often. Mainly when it comes to over analyzing a post and making nothing into an argument.

Also, BG reacts on the same level as the OF when WoW is mentioned, just in the opposite direction. Over there if you like WoW you're the devil, here if you don't like WoW then you're a neanderthal who isn't as well versed as the elite in the topics of modern MMO's.
