    Well, the FFVI Premium Characters (Terra, Locke, Celes, Setzer) are ripped straight from the original game.
    All characters from FFVII - XIII look like they were ripped from fan-made RPGmaker resources.

    As good and entertaining as the game can be, I think the problem is you really can't charge 4$ for a title that has about 85% reused assets (sprites, backgrounds, music)

    Any game that has oodles of microtransactions that cannot be obtained through other means (as Correction spoke about) should not be $4. Even $0.99 is pushing it.

    on what basis does one even measure something like that? a game isn't simply its sprites and the bigger part of it probably goes into the gameplay mechanic.. which is fine (and pretty well balanced) if you accept that swiping around an ipad is a form of gameplay. my qualm is with the DLC pricing which does seem rather steep when it costs about as much as the whole game.

    I also personally prefer the reused original sprites as opposed to the new ones they made (like in FF Airship Brigade) cos its familiar, nostalgic and you already have a connection to it.

    to the point about 85% reused assets.. have u ever played pokemon?

    Usually, a product prize should be based on its production costs. Of course its IP value comes into play, as well.
    In this case, people are mad - or sincerely dissapointed - about the Final Fantasy IP being the only reason that justifies the whole price.

    In addition, it saddens me to see that SE isn't even trying on quality.
    Both FF Dimensions and ATB feature a very interesting (though different) gameplay, but none of them leaves a lasting visual impression. ATB may be nostalgia inspired, I get it, but Dimensions' graphic quality is just inexcusable - we all have seen RPGmaker projects that looked way better than that. All popular iOS old-style rpgs, from Zenonia to Inotia, are miles ahead.

    thats because its not SE thats making these games..
    the stand they appear to be adopting is going to other game makers and saying 'make me a small game that uses FF ip' and then selling what comes back. by small i mean mobile and arcade-cards and all..
    like.. Artniks is made by GREE, ATB is done by BitGroove

    that said, Airborne Brigade and Guardian Cross are both in-house but i don't think they fare that much better. can't say they don't at least have more depth tho.
    anyway dimensions wasn't originally made for iOS to begin with lol. it was for JP mobile phones like the after years.. and developed by Matrix anyway.

    i quite disagree on the lack of visual impression for ATB tho. there's something about seeing cloud, squall, tidus, yuna, ashe and shantotto on the same playing field in 2d and unleashing hell on the enemy that keeps me hooked

    Seriously what the hell is this. Dimensions looks a hundred times better than Zenonia also. I'd doubt there are any RPG maker games that come close to the spell/ability animations of FFD either (i've noticed that curega has the same sound effect as rosa's curaja in FFIV 3D remake).

    Drop the resolution or change the character designs and it wouldn't look so bad.

    That should be the only legitimate complaint about Final Fantasy Dimensions.

    But I won't argue with someone else's tastes, of course.
    And for the records, FFDimensions gameplay is miles ahead Inotia 4.

    so what IS wrong with RPGmaker assets? its just a different visual style. most people just don't like it because of the association with RPGmaker.
    Inotia is more old school pixel drawing and FFD goes for the whole HD2D feel.. altho the sprites do seem a little too clean imo. (even compared to the PSP FFs)

    Well, what is wrong is that they look like DEFAULT RPGmaker assets.
    They are uninspiring, bland, lacking any kind of artistic direction.

    I get the HD2D, but it's just poorly executed. Then again, in my opinion.

    Final Fantasy: All the Bravest had witty and self-aware flavor text, but it really was a quick cash in for Square Enix. The iOS and Android "game" distilled Final Fantasy battle to rapidly tapping on sprites. Cameo characters like sprites of Cloud, Lightning, Terra, and Cecil are available as in app purchases, but the hero you get is random. You might get stuck with a pig or a kappa instead.

    Final Fantasy: All the Bravest sales were fueled by nostalgia and now Square Enix is making merchandise specifically for the game. There are 29 keychains with the game’s different classes like warrior, black mage, white mage, sage, and onion knight. These will be available at the end of September as a pack for 11,020 yen ($112).

    I would of laughed if you bought a keychain, but they picked at random which one you get. But it looks like you get all or nothing.
