Well I think in the trailer it was mainly showing the online part of the game, since it has a chatbox in the corner of party members talking to each other. It might be possible we may only have 1 character to control in "solo mode" or it may be entirely different for the online part of it. I guess we'll just have to wait for more info.
..Maybe the 'chat log' thing is just an action log?
I'm pretty sure I saw it translated somewhere and it looked like usual MMORPG chatlog.
Let me see if I can find it.
Edit: Can't find picture but this guy translates it on neogaf
edit 2: found it

buying a wii u for this
Bayo 2 was why, this is icing on the cake.
This will be my icing if the new Mario is Super Mario Sunshine 2.
@Edelweiss and Levin: I'd like to thank both of you for showing me more of this composer. Been listening to more of his stuff for the past hour while doing homework. Definitely hype for the soundtrack of this game now.
Can't really say I liked the music linked, but I can't say I've liked every song a composer has put out, either. For the most part, I liked XB's OST. Night and day soundtracks are something I wish more games did, but if I had request for the game, it'd be that each zone got its own combat/ambush music, too. Not getting a change there until maybe 3/4ths into the game was sad, and even then it's limited to those areas.
Anyway, there's a part of me hoping the game isn't too online heavy. I know the AI had some derp moments like your healers standing next to the tank/in front of the mob's directional attacks, but I also think a little something is lost in such a transition, and party combos may become more awkward. That, and I can see ability cooldowns not resetting post-battle. And really, enforced online just tends to translate to story quality death as emphasis shifts from a small group of scripted heroes to a bunch of nameless spectator players who run through some plot hoops. That, and then the less nopon the better. Fuck frontier village. x.x
Takahashi would be that asshole to make me buy a Wii U.
I'm really starting to get a Xenogears/Saga vibe from the new trailer. And im hoping and praying that the more we see of this the more will confirm that.
I really think the music choice and decision to show us the mech hangar was intentional. We've already seen the fuel bars in the previous reveal. Might they really be doing what so many of us thought could never be done?
I'm even willing to go as far as saying this planet is Lost Jerusalem and the giant thing at the end could be a prototype Deus.
Fuck. Between that and Smash Bros, I'll need to get a Wii U eventually. >.<
I still don't know how that hack E3 review panel for Gametrailers neglected to even mention this fucking game.
Xenogears: I want to belieeeevve
