Class system with specialized arts upon level up. Change classes on the fly - EVEN MID BATTLE.. wow
Not a huge fan of incorporating "real" locations within games.
Not sure I really like the silent protagonist thing with how great Shulk was in the first game. But, we'll see, might work in this game.
I kept wanting them to say "Eldridge" and "Lambs" in the trailer.
They didn't, but its like they WANTED to.
I very much like the direction the series has gone, and I hope they do 6 of these.
So is this basically only a spiritual successor? I'm not sure I like it like that... I loved the world they created before. (based upon what I've watched from treehouse)
Is there a good video out there that can get me hyped about this? I've enjoyed the Xeno games, but all I saw of this was the trailer, which... really didn't do anything for me. I couldn't really tell what was supposed to be going on. I want to be hyped about this, I do, but so far... nothing. I see some posts in hear talking about gameplay, but the video above says private when I click on it, soooo
There was a nearly 45 minute gameplay section during the Nintendo Treehouse. If you played Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii, image that, but with nicer graphics.
I could not get Xenoblade to run correctly, it ran smooth for the most part but had a lot of audio issues that really fucked up the experience for me.
Same, but I eventually caved and bought the game proper. Don't regret.
Audio works perfectly in 99% of games now, for a long time. There's also an LLE for dsp option that has made it work perfectly for practically forever now, at the cost of quite a bit of performance. Here's a comprehensive list of wii/gc games that have issues with HLE of the dsp. Yeah, all 16 of them. Although i think animal crossing and pikmin are both fine too, but it's possible they have small issues you'd never even notice anyway.
The textures aren't that small. Plus, as mentioned there's texture packs that make it look even better. There is no chance in hell that wii u can ever look better than xenoblade did on dolphin.Don't get me wrong, Dolphin makes Wii games a hell of a lot nicer looking but there's only so much you can do to compensate for itty bitty texture sizes.
Even on DS, where the lower resolution and shit gpu make it pointless, not to mention smaller size available on game cards vs a dvd make it more costly, you can get results like this:Spoiler: show
It's pretty common for games to have excessively large textures that can never be taken advantage of due to limited hardware. Obviously results will vary from game to game, but Xenoblade is one where playing on dolphin gives you near pc level graphics, especially with the HD texture packs (but even without them there's a night and day difference).
Reading this makes me want to try Xenoblade on dolphin. I played it on the console, and it was godawful graphically.
Didn't at all stop it from being an amazing game though. Would love to see it in HD..

It's pretty damn awesome on dolphin.
