Anyone having issues getting into the game? My internet seems to be working fine, but I keep getting timeouts at the login screen and when I finally make it past that I get hung up on connecting to the server.

I just got my computer back from it being shipped from my last duty station. I updated it, and then got a message that the Seekers of Adolin was not installed. I bought it on amazon on my laptop, do I just go download it again from there?

Yea I disconnected doing Akvan, had to have a friend move me out of the zone. Now I insta-r0 in Jugner when I login my main, mules are fine. Getting random lobby disconnects on the main menu etc.

Same here. Was connected fine, went to switch chars and instantly failed to connect to lobby. Tried 3~4 times and gave up and left for work.

Can you get plasm if you are out of range of the field NMs? I'm guessing yes, since in fracture farming the plasm is area wide... but just curious.

EDIT: OK, just answered question... which is yes! Can get KI/plasm zone-wide even if you're out of range of field NMs.

I see alot of talk when I'm looking at certain gear sets, especially with regards to SAM and being capped attack. So my question is when is attack considered to be capped? Is it as simple as that or is it determined by your target's stats and your stats?

The attack value itself does not cap, but the ratio of your attack to the target's defense is what caps. So the "attack cap" is higher or lower depending on the target's defense, but the ratio cap is 2.25 for melee weapons.

e.g. if target's defense is 400, the attack cap is 900. (2.25 x 400) If you had 1,000 attack, you would still be dealing melee damage as if you had 900.

What's the general consensus on RDM merits on Cat1/2?

I'm 4/5 Dia III 5/5 Slow II 1/5 Paralyze II, and category 1 is just 5/5 Convert recast 5/5 Ice accuracy. With how inconsequential Slow/Elegy are on most things now (because it doesn't affect TP moves, and a majority of new enemies have normal attacks that are considered TP moves) I've been considering reversing my Slow/Paralyze merits. Changes to elemental magic might give me cause to think about switching my Ice accuracy merits to a different element. I see no reason to not merit Convert recast, though.

Further, Ascetic's Fury can beat Asuran under some circumstances. In situations where even 1/5 Shijin will handily beat Asuran, Ascetic's can often match Shijin. In other words, both weaponskills are situationally equivalent to a low-merit Shijin. There are also some setups that can make them comparable to a high-merit Shijin.

Hmm what kinda situations? Was looking for a lower-hit ws for mobs with heavy eva.

You could Ochain them if that's an option. Failing that I would do what you suggested and see what sort of damage you take.

Although I would at first see if you can even cleave them. Detectors have the undesired effect of causing people to R0/DC/Crash when you cleave them. Not everyone but certainly applies to some.

How do ppl get to see the shouts in jeuno/west adoulin when they in other areas? Is it a special plugin?

Edit: I mean the shouts pops up ingame and not through ffxiah.
