Sad anime? (To keep me crying b/c i don't deserve to be happy)

Does anyone have any recommendations for really sad anime? Something that will keep my crying most of the time?

I'd prefer romances, especially with a female main character, but i am open to almost anything.

I am looking for things like Clannad, ef, or Kanon.

    Grave of the Fireflies.

Edit: It's about children orphaned in WW2 Japan who starve to death.

Since you named 2/4 of Keys anime you have probably already seen Angel Beats and Air right? Could also say Elfen lied(not tearjerker bad but still sad), 5 Centimeters per second, Destiny of the Shrine Maiden(havent seen yet but people have told me its pretty good, rather its sad or not I cant say), True Tears(again haven't seen this one personally),Rumbling Hearts(maybe?)

AnoHana hands down, easy choice and right up there with Clannad+AS. 5CM per Second is just fucking depressing. True Tears was okay I guess.

Bare with me on these next 2 suggestions:

Firstly, Gintama, while yes, it's primarily a comedy, when they go into the main story arcs, holy shit. So many good arcs, Umibozu, Okita's sister, Shinsengumi Crisis, Guardian Dog, Yoshiwara in Flames, Kabukicho Four Devas, Kintama, and the current arc, Courtesan of a Nation.

And Secondly, One Piece. Yes, seriously. I mean, not the main stories I guess, but the flashbacks and the background stories for each of the crew members always hit me in the feels.

Hrm, can't think of much else at the moment to be honest.

I found some of the episodes in Kino no Tabi depressing, one of my favorite animes.

Elfen Lied manga. That thing is about 96 chapters of pure depression where silver liners only exist to get your hopes up before crushing them again.

Here's one that will make you want to die because it's so damn depressing.

    Footprints in the Sand

First time I watched this, I didn't leave my house for several days. Showed it to a friend after that and he was mad at me for a month for showing him this. Plus, it kind of relates to FFXI.

If you want feels/episode, space brothers and chihaya furu are pretty up there. Rainbow as well I guess, although it's a bit on the depressingly brutal side. ( child concentration camp for wild kids during post ww2 era ).

Along the lines of those two shows (both of which I absolutely fucking love), Sakamichi No Apollon would fit right in as far as being somewhat similar in the kinds of feels they provide

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Anime is also just like 11 episodes of pure "fuck you" sucker punches, but Manga is definitely better in terms of understanding what the fuck is going on.

I gotta say Paranoia Agent bummed me the fuck out for like 3 days after I marathoned it.

Good luck finding it though. Shit's been out of print for ages.
