Manhunt in Los Angeles. 3 dead. LAPD goes insane.

So police in Southern California have shot two unarmed Asian women who were delivering newspapers..

The women were driving a truck similar to what the wanted LAPD officer is reported to be driving.. They saw the women throwing papers out the window and got spooked and shot them.. A short time later a white male also unarmed was driving a similar blue pick up truck.. he too was shot by police who believed he was the suspect.. Keep in mind the man they are looking for is a 6foot 4 Black male..

TV news stations in LA are warning people not to drive pick up trucks in LA and to obey all traffic laws or risk being shot by police who are all stressed out and tense.. This is happening right now.. Its no exaggeration… I don’t care whats going on, we pay officers to be have professionally under the most stressful situations..

Slightly more sympathy? Sure. A useless commodity nonetheless. Whether he attacks an officer or a civilian, the difference isn't going to be between eliciting change and continuing the current status. Either is going to entail legal sanctions and any attack can invoke a negative public reaction. The slight gain he, hypothetically, would make isn't as profound (or pragmatically beneficial) as you suggest.

Edit: I would be more understanding of your position if you said he shouldn't attack anyone, but you seemed to approve of him attacking officers, so I'm sure why you utilize a sympathy argument. One gains more sympathy than the other, but difference is so minimal, you may as well not suggest the alternative anyways.

I think you're seriously underestimating the number of people who would love to hear about a bunch of cops being targeted and gunned down by one of their own for being corrupt.

Especially minorities and in LA of all places, there are plenty who would cheer for news like that.

As the manhunt continues for suspected killer and former police officer Christopher Dorner, there is some evidence that his alleged shooting rampage was in the planning stages for some days. Dorner mailed a package to CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.

"Apparently the package arrived on the 1st of February. It was not opened by me. I did not know of its existence until today," Cooper said Thursday.

Cooper said the package contained a bullet-riddled coin that was wrapped in duct tape. The tape had a handwritten message that said, "Thanks, but no thanks Will Bratton," referring to former Los Angeles police chief William Bratton. The coin is typically handed out by the police chief as a memento.

The package also had a hand-labeled DVD and a note that read, in part, 'I never lied.' According to the LAPD, Dorner was fired because he lied about an incident back in 2007 when he was a rookie cop working alongside a training officer.

Dorner filed a lawsuit in an effort to try to keep his job, but that lawsuit was rejected, and so was his appeal. That chain of events appears to have triggered Dorner's alleged revenge rampage.

Authorities say Dorner wrote a multi-page manifesto in which he threatened to kill law enforcement officials. He is wanted in connection with a double murder in Irvine and the shootings of three police officers on Thursday.

Law enforcement officials are inspecting the package for clues.

He ditched it about 24 hours ago, torched it in Big Bear (a mountainous ski resort town a couple hours east of LA), where the search is still ongoing (in a snowstorm).

The ski resort had advertised a lift ticket special Feb. 7 called Uniform Days where skiers or snowboarders wearing their law enforcement uniforms get a special rate.

PS. I dont think someone in his mind set goes burning a car without having a logical reason for doing so. It wouldnt be for "getting rid of evidence", or "hiding his tracks" thats for sure, if anything probably the opposite.
