Facebook is blowing up with this.
It is pretty funny
Thats fucking hilarious!
Not gonna lie, I had no idea the Pope could voluntarily quit. What did he do? Fax God a resignation letter? Does he know how much a headache it is to hire a religious leader these days?
At least the last pope to pull this stunt got forced out.
I also though that the Pope + Queen had to be there till death
I asked my Catholic mom how she felt about the new Pope from Ghana. She said she supposed whoever is picked, and I said "like Obama?" And she laughed.
Why wouldn't he be able to quit? How would they stop him?
Too many lulz to be had

Meh, the lulz get boring pretty fast, seeing as they come from the lack of knowledge of most people![]()
People do know the Pope isn't really chosen by God, right?
Fundamental atheists are just as retarded a fundamental Christians?
Some things an old professor of mine was posting today.
He couldn't cite being an unbearable self-centered prick whose entire life's work spits in the face of the Christ he loves.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/12/wo...tire.html?_r=0Proves he's just a poser, always has been. Pope John Paul II was old and frail and suffered his alzheimer's publicly -- this guy was never about serving God or the people. It was always about himself. Always.
JPII lived his words; Benedict was all words.
Too many words.
And a ruined Holy Mass.
A broken Church.
A sinful life of pedophelia cover up.
A hateful ministry of pursuit.
Bye.

He was a good leader and preserved the tradition of the church. He is a human being in failing health, and his decision to resign is in the best interest of the church. Deserves respect imo.
This is the voice of god....

He's setting a good example, one of the contributors to unemployment among young people is old people not retiring.
I wanna see a new young upstart pope fresh out of JC-U that's gonna open everyone's mind and shit. He'd ride a bike around the Vatican, wear his ridiculously elaborate robes with no tie and sandals and be all like "hey man, let's have church outside today".
I think it's a rule that the pope has to be really old. Like, the closer you are to death, the closer you are to God.
(Though seriously; Is there some age limit on being made Pope, or does it just normally take a really long time for a person to build up the cred to get any votes to be Pope?)
