Lightning strikes St. Peter's Basilica hours after Pope Benedict resigns. Coincidence?
God is about to take matters into his own hands.
A new figure head needs to take over and change help the world. Contraception, same sex marriage and lock down on pedophiles are the biggest issues. Arch bishop from Vancouver is rumored to be a candidate. Maybe things could've different As vancouver is. A forward thinking city, but I doubt it.
oh geez, lol
Trouble is, Christians would call this new figurehead The Antichrist.
I'm still trying to figure out if that's a good thing or not, given the reprehensible things Christians have done as a collective group for the last eon or so. Dunno if I want to see the Anti-CHRIST existing, but the Anti-CHRISTIAN? That's not so goddamn bad. Pro choice, open-minded, stays out of people's bedrooms, not very preachy.
I feel like Ghandi: "I like your Christ. I don't like your Christians. They aren't at all like Christ."
"Ghandi was so fucking Christian he was Hindu."
(that bit came to mind, always makes me laugh)
Catholic cardinals are essentially the college of rick santorums. Look for a ultra conservative pope
Was looking this up yesterday:
The last Pope to resign willingly was Celestine V in 1294 after reigning for only five months, his resignation was known as "the great refusal" and was condemned by the poet Dante in the "Divine Comedy". Gregory XII reluctantly abdicated in 1415 to end a dispute with a rival claimant to the papacy.
Ratzy's pedo-shuffling game was sick, I guess it takes more out of you than he thought.
Pope Accepts Senior Analyst Position At Catholic Think Tank
VATICAN CITY—Just hours after announcing his resignation from the papacy Monday, Pope Benedict XVI confirmed that he had accepted a lucrative senior analyst position at a New York–based Catholic think tank, the Westchester Institute for Ethics and the Human Person. “My years at the Vatican have been tremendously rewarding, but the time has come for me to move on to new challenges, and after interviewing for a variety of different positions, the senior analyst job at the Westchester Institute seemed like the natural next step for my career,” said the 85-year-old Benedict, whose extensive résumé reportedly begins with the line “Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of the Prince of Apostles, 2005-2013.” “With my experience, I believe I can bring a unique perspective to today’s most important policy debates, whether it’s opposing homosexual behavior or denouncing the use of contraception in AIDS-stricken nations. I look forward to getting started this March.” Benedict added that he plans to maintain a good relationship with his soon-to-be former employer, just in case any worthwhile positions open up in the future.
lol, why have riches in heaven when you can have riches on earth?

I'm sure someone on my Facebook will fall for it.
He's the Sarah Palin of popedom.
However, it is widely believed that Celestine V did not choose to abdicate, and that his eventual successor Boniface VIII forced him into it. He helped push forth the law allowing Popes to resign, a month later he did, and then a few years after that Boniface tracked him down and imprisoned him, and eventually murdered him. So this could be the only "real" pope resignation, unless of course we find out stuff happening behind the scenes.
My TO THE VESTIBULE comment still stands, as that is where Dante placed Celestine in hell. Unless you interpret Dante's "the great refusal" to Pilate, which would make you WRONG GOD DAMN IT.
sorry i dont get to use my worthless degrees often
