There's definitely something up with either driver support from nVidia or XIV's devs optimizing for an old set of drivers. I had done a couple of runs with the three most recent drivers...

    306.63
    Run 1: 8728
    Run 2: 8730

    310.90
    Run 1: 8161
    Run 2: 8159

    314.07
    Run 1: 8154
    Run 2: 8149

That said it's only a beta, and at that just a benchmark (iirc 1.0's benchmark was pretty horrible), so not much to worry about. Still annoying though.

i had about the same (and was disappointed also) but i'm on an i7-950 with less ram. i'm figuring the ram isn't making the difference though. it feels like higher end amd gpus are killing it with the scores. my plan was to overclock my system tonight and try again, but that didn't happen, and i'm really drunk so i'm passing out. maybe tomorrow. i'm on a geforce 680 but from the 3 sites i pay attention to, it looks like the radeons are beating geforces. could be wrong though, i only looked at early scores - i just happened to notice that we had extremely similar hardware Guitarman.

just saw your post Eanae - looks like the better CPU is really making the difference. it's funny... (queue the start of a story no one gives a fuck about):
call me a fan boy if you want, i'm really not, but i built a new system (my current one minus my current gpu) to play random games i liked at the time & to be ready for FFXIV in mid-2010. i had a radeon 5850 at the time which played everything great, and i built an i7-950 12gb SSD etc. i've upgraded a few things since then, better SSD, more ram than i need, and the geforce 680. watching these benchmark threads all of a sudden... now i feel like i want to upgrade my system, well at least my motherboard and CPU again, for what... FFXIV AGAIN. WHAT THE FUCK! haha. i'm not going to, it's just funny that in two and a half years this god damn game that won't go away keeps making me have Newegg nightmares...

I think I'll be fine. I also ran the test at the minimum settings at 720p and it still looked great.

I recently left evga my old 480 was EVGA i ended up giving it to my brother and bought the Gigabyte Windforce OC, really did a bunch of research and this is what i found that lead me to my choice >> http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...w,3217-16.html I am happy with it, and the OC'ing head room is there. In the end I got 680 performance with 670 cost.

Someone just fucked the sorting on the sheet.

Edit: Fixed it. Stop sorting if you don't know what the hell you're doing.

Any way to lock the main sheet, and add another sheet for new entries that you and a few people could update manually?

May be less of a hassle than fixing the main sheet over and over again.

Unfortunately no or I would've done that. It's either open for editing to others (so they can put in their scores) or only I can edit (would take waaay too long to get scores up). Ain't nobody got time for that. :/

I've been trying to raise my score, but not too much luck. 5371 is the best I have seen with an i7 3930k (@stock) 2 sapphire radeon hd 6950s (@stock and not unlocked to 6970s yet) 16gbs ram and saved on an intel ssd. I know crossfire isn't supported in this but I did expect to do a little better. =/

Ha, that reminds me of playing Betrayal at Krondor back in '93. We had to have our (386's? 486's?) tower open, ceiling fan on full blast and a desk fan blowing staight at the CPU/heatsink to even play the game for more than 3 minutes without crashing.

Maybe so but the stress on the gpu isn't worth the numbers haha, i'd rather run at 9k and be happy that my gpu will last a long time. Running SSD's in RAID0 may have helped.

Good times, I still have the guide to that game, heh.

Also, holy crap Eyedea. That was a pretty ballsy overclock.

Hoping for Thursday/Friday, but postal services where I live are notoriously fickle. Not to mention the possibility of unexpected delays in general.

Alas, I got a poor FX-8350 as CPU, it doesn't clock at all without the entire thing going massively unstable, despite temperatures being low. But can at least compare on two different GPUs
