Yeah looks like the input form is broken, using Chrome and nothing shows up but the title and the submit button.

I just ran the benchmark with the new system I built. Feels like the score is a little low unless my GPU is really hurting me that much.

    Spoiler: show

    i5 3570k
    HD Radeon 6870
    8GB RAM
    SSD

Going to OC the system once I get it everything set back up on it and run the test again.

    Previous score was a 4216 on a PhenomII x4 920 2.8ghz, 2GB RAM, same video card, HDD

Benchmark doesn't report OC settings for some reason...

This is with the new card I bought. Settings were i7-3960x @ 4.6 GHz, GTX680 with offsets +80/+500, run from a 2GB RAM disk. Scores utilizing RAM cache on Samsung F4s resulted in a score range 50-200 points lower.

Clearly, my old GPU ( discussed in earlier post ) was my bottleneck. Previous post ( link ) provided for ease of finding.
I'm glad to see this post. I have 2 sapphire radeon hd 6950s and have been debating ditching my 2 cards and jumping up to a single gtx680 ftw edition or a radeon hd 7970. Not sure yet which one to choose (benchmark testing go either way), but I am leaning towards the gtx680 for a change of scenery since all I've owned are amd cards.

Having looked though a bunch of results in the thread, it really seems like Nvidia crushes AMD here, however, there has to be something else causing major shifts in score as people with virtually identical systems get very different scores (my 6k+ vs 8k, for instance). Here's a new score with new OC settings (1050/1500):

The benchmark seems very stable as in most games these settings would probably cause artifacts to appear.

[email protected] 660Ti@1150/3005 yielded 7300s with updated drivers, 7800s with 306.something drivers. The game is generally cpu limited on this configuration if there is more than a handful of characters. After learning a bit more about intel overclocking, it turns out my mb is pretty limited on options so I can't get it over 4.4.

I'm very happy with my scores considering I built the PC in August 2010 for the 1.0 launch.

    i7 930 @ 2.8GHz
    ATI 5870
    Crucial 256GB SSD
    6GB DDR3 1600 RAM

    1920x1200, everything at max - 6825
1600x900, everything at max - 8317 (I don't like the game taking up the whole screen, so this is what I play at)

I beat my friend's brand new Alienware by 900 on each, and I can't figure out why.

Something must be up with my settings if I wasn't even breaking 5k with an i5 3570 @ 3.4 Ghz, an AMD 6870, and 8 GB RAM, Intel 520 240 GB SSD, testing max setting at 1920x1080 and you were able to hit 6825 with your setup at a higher res.

Lots of factors could go into that. Is the SSD a 6 GB/s hooked up to a 3 GB/s ( or worse, a 1.5? ). What technology is being used, how old, optimizations, etc. If you think data I/O is a bottleneck for your system, create a small ( 2GB is fine ) RAM drive. If no other changes are made and your score changes significantly as a result ( > margin of error ) then look into how your SSD is being bottlenecked. As I noted in my posts, the RAM drive did not make that much a difference over a RAM cache, which ought to be a little slower than a SSD.

Since the data form is gone now I can't textually compare graphics cards with the cpu I have. Of those that might remember some of the data will the performance differences between a GTX 660 ti and 670 be large enough to compensate for the price increase? I'm purchasing one of the two but only plan on playing this game, so I don't want to go too overboard with my choice.

I don't remember the specific results in the benchmark but as far as I have seen around the general information on the 2 cards is, if you are gaming on a single monitor (game on one monitor only, even if you have a second monitor for browsing) and at most 1920x1080 then the 660ti is perfectly fine, but if you are gaming across multiple monitors or a single monitor greater than 1920x1080 then you want the 670.

OK thanks Sign. Also, I found a superclocked 660. How do those compare to the ti's? Only thing I noticed was the CUDA cores being lower but didn't know how that worked with FFXIV. Is the TI worth $80 more than the 660?

If so, which of these manufacturers should I go with?

Unfortunately I can't answer that. I usually stick with AMD cards, the info I gave above was just gleaned from reading several tech threads recently while I put together my new PC. Hopefully someone else will come in with the more specific info about Nvidia cards for you.

Get the 660ti, the regular 660 is a midrange card at best. That said, if you're not averse to using AMD cards, the HD7950 is very similar in price to the 660ti and performs closer to a gtx 670. I got 8035 on the benchmark with a moderate, no voltage increase OC on my 7950.

It seems inconsistent, though. My 7950 can't break 6500 despite a reather heavy overclock. I also have an i5-3570k @4Ghz, plenty of ram and an SSD, so I can't be bottlenecked by those.

Anyone with <2000 score tried to play this game and care to share their thoughts?

I got 1950 or so at the lowest settings with my laptops integrated GPU (which was surprising), which would mean I can play the game in fullscreen without slowdown. Has anyone tried this?

Honestly with a score that low I'd say there's something wrong with your card. You should be getting over 7k out of the box with a 7950. Drivers all up to date, and it's getting enough power? If you're just using CCC have you tried sliding the Power up to +20%? That's not a voltage increase, it just allows the card to run at its actual TDP and is safe. It sounds almost like the card is throttling itself. If you've done all that stuff, I'd almost say just RMA the thing, you might have just gotten a bum card. :/
