The new character creation benchmark increased my score. I used the old one at first and got 8200, then tried with new bench and got 10338, with just my CPU Oc'd to 4.2 Ghz, and GPU normal.

Can't seem to break 23k. Gonna blame it on the 1600hz ram. :<

So just quickly browsed the last few pages. Didnt notice anyone run any resolutions above 1920 x 1080 which i figured was the maximum for the benchmark but in the settings menu i had an option for 2560 x 1440. Is this correct?

Either way some scores below. The benchmark doesnt show that my CPU is overclocked or the correct amount of VRAM for my GPU which is also overclocked is this normal?

Running at a single card with the 13.8 drivers/13.7 drivers gets me barely off of 11k of a score. Not complaining, really, as the game will run fine, but what gives? Granted, the 13.8 drivers only have Frame Pacing on for DX11/DX10 games (DX9 will be later), so maybe that's one of the reasons perhaps it's crashing.

    Anyone have similar trouble?

    Specs are:

    Sapphire 7970x2
    i7 2600k @ 4.0
    16g dd3 1600
    ssdx2 raid0

EDIT: Also just noticed that for some reason, the gfx card in settings and in the results window shows up as 5800 (it did this in the beta also). Not sure if that makes any difference.
it shouldn't be showing up as a 58xx series, did you used to own a 5830/5850/5870 and had it installed on this windows install? something doesn't sound like it's working correctly. i have two 7970's and never have any issues with crashing. using the 13.8 driver. to get cfx to work *semi* properly, I had to create a custom profile for ffxiv.exe and use "AFR Friendly" CrossfireX option. It still only maxes out each GPU @ around 70%

1020MHz, I haven't gotten around to overclocking the video card yet. I've never done it before. GPU-Z reports a 1020MHz boost clock, but when I actually run something, it boosts to 1110MHz.

I'm having a hell of a time overclocking the 3770K. I set the timings to 43, and on boot, it still says the frequency is 3522MHz, then when I get into windows and open CPU-Z, it says the speed is 4300MHz, so I don't know what to believe. When I overclocked my 930 to 4.0GHz, the BIOS would show it.

*EDIT* I don't know if I lost the silicon lottery or what, but I've got this thing running at 1.4V right now, and it's still bluescreening at 4.3GHz telling me I need more voltage.

yeah that's a shame (referring to needing more than 1.4v). what are your temperatures at 4.2ghz? is your chip delidded? also, what screen are you looking at (in the bios) that's showing 3522mhz? there are different menus that will show your chips stock speed, and other menu screens showing what the clock speed will be after applying your overclock settings. 1.4v on a 3770k is, while not dangerous, a voltage that will severely limit the lifespan of your chip. JJ at Asus suggests 1.35v maximum for the 3770k

At post it's showing 3.5Ghz, with the clock speed of 3522MHz underneath it. My 930 used to show 2.8GHz, with a 4000MHz underneath it.

The chip is not delidded, it's running at 80C at [email protected].

I'm pretty disappointed if 1.35V only gets me 4.3GHz. Guessing there's nothing I can do about it?

It's also possible I'm fucking up the overclock and changing settings I shouldn't be. I changed the turbo frequency, as well as the base clock for the CPU. Should I only have changed the turbo frequency?

Just did some tweaking to the new build, Cpu @4.6ghz 1.38v Ram: 2000mhz took a bit to get everything right wasn't going past 4.3ghz for me either Izzy(btw grats on new build) but after leaving it on for 48 hours st8 after the build I can go higher than 1866 for the ram and 4.5 for the cpu, haven't tried to go any higher just yet I'm just happy I'm not stuck @ 4.3/1866 so hopefully yours will be just fine I built mine 2 days before yours give it a day or so to get stable.

With the new tweaks got to 15k w00t!

Which 780 did you end up going with Izzy? I went with the Asus 780 directcu II. Beast mode OC

Btw what's a good benchmark score for the 780? before it was 9.5k-10.5k(I think some guy even got 11k) What about with the new benchmark? Any 780 owners hit over 16k with a single gpu?

IDK which mobo you have so it may be different. I have ASRock Z77. I go to OC tweaker tab, then to CPU clock frequency (which is default to auto), I change it to (I don't think it is called manual, but I will call it manual for the sake of this) manual, then I go to the multiplier number (which is 35) and change it to 43 for a 4.3ghz OC, save and exit. Shouldn't be changing any turbo or hyperthreading settings. I do believe most recommend turning off HT, but my UEFI won't even let me bother those settings once I take it off auto mode.

I don't see why you need to do both, well I do both but my cpu isn't unlocked. Just increase the multiplier for the best results, increasing the base clock overclocks a lot of things not just the cpu cores.
