What are the best anime this season? I am downloading the Attack on Titan one right now.
Thanks!
Apart from Attack on Titan, I think Hataraku Maou-sama is the next best show this season (so far, it's still early). I also personally like Mushibugyo, Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san and Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko. The latter I wasn't really expecting a lot based on the setting and first few episodes, but I ended up really liking these. The last two are comedy/slice of life, but Mushibugyo is just typical shonen with nice art and animation.
Kakumeiki Valvrave is interesting but it's hard to tell whether it's worth watching. So far it isn't great but they haven't explored the darker areas yet and unlike Suisei no Gargantia there's no PLOT. Suisei no Gargantia has PLOT and a great start, but the longer it continues the less impressed I am.
So far my only solid recommendation apart from Titan is Hataraku Maou-sama. It's too early to tell for anything else.
Susei no Gargantia seems like it could be good, but the pacing is a bit off. It is like Maou to Yuusha. It's drawn well. The story is good. But the directing and pacing is just drawn out and badly formulated.
Attack on Titan will probably go down as one of the best anime of the year I think. Reading ahead in the manga, the source material doesn't disappoint, however, I think it might catch up at the rate it is going and if it is to be a 25 episode run.
Hataraku Maou should of have stuck with the "Fish out of water" rather than going back to the fantasy elements from the other world. Maybe a live-action version could be a funny television series.
Chihayafuru 2 is just as good. I think it still is great at making an otherwise boring game enjoyable with art and directing.
Muromi is great. Really wish they were longer!!!
Date A Live is terrible.
Oreno Imouto... is decent. The beginning of this season focused on a lot of supporting characters and Kirino, while I think most fans like watching Kuroneko. Its watchable but if you didn't like the first season, then don't bother to watch this.
Red Data Girl sucks. Bad pacing, confusing story, characters whom I can't discern who is who and 7 episodes in, I still don't even know what is going on.
To Aru no Kagaku is great. But man I am confused on where we are at in the general canon of the Toaru universe.
Photo Kano is like a little Ichigo 100% but a bit more like Amagami. Its ok for the genre.

Little Witch Academia(One episode)
From Panty and Stocking Staff. They take full advantage of the strengths of traditional animation and the short is full of wonderful props and gags that fit the setting. The story is harmless fun with simple but believable characters.

Warners Brothers homage.
Wolf Children (Movie)
I'm a big fan of Hosoda's work and he really hit it out of the park with this one. Just gorgeous Movie. One of the most important pieces to the success of Wolf Childern though is the attention to detail and the relationships. A great deal of care and thought is clearly put into rendering the emotional scenes and it shows all over. Its effect on the way the movie look is probably the biggest thing, from the way characters and objects attached to them move to the minute density of the world is really impressive. This carries over pretty well into the way everything. There is an appropriate massiveness instilled in the way certain things sound that really helps establish the setting. It's one of those anime you can't even say much about, because the only way you can put it into words is "Well, that was excellent."
