A lot of of noobish questions about RUN.
1) Would Ethereal earring be a nice TP option? When I tried soloing some easy stuff around I noticed MP was one of my main issues. I only have 3 FC items (Orvail Pants, Thaumas Gloves, Prolix Ring) and it takes a lot to finish casting Refresh, which is not enough anyway.
2) Lunge is dependant on Weapon skill but not attack, only Macc/Mab? Any other secondary attribute that affect its damage? (INT? MND? etc)
3) What are the SJ considered to be most efficient? /RDM gives Fast cast and Haste and... nothing else really. I still think /SAM is the best?
4) How does One For All's magic shield work? Does it grant complete immunity for the next spell cast on the target within 30 seconds of its use?
5) I don't understand how Valiance works, is it applied ONLY to pt members or to you AND party members?

4) Not sure if anyone else has played around with it but my tests were really weird. Like one time it would block all the dmg of a high tier nuke the next time barely any. Next time might stop dmg for everyone from a couple of casts etc. Would probably need to get some ballista to properly test it
5) Both unless you have Vallation up and then it has no effect
3) Wasn't thinking about anything specific. Kinda in general I guess, not specific setups.
5) so this kinda means you can get Vallation up 100% of the time. When Vallation wears and it's on cooldown use Valiation and u'll get the effect again granting it to your pt members in range as well.
I haven't played up with RUN much like majority of people in this thread but so far my impression is that it can be an excellent DD/Tank for fights with a single kind of elemental damage, or a nice DD/support for similar fights.
But as a general purpose tank it kinda seems... I dunno, not really interesting compared to other options.
I'd say drk or sam for dd rdm for being self sufficient.
Kinda meh dd right now. Pretty sure it doesn't even beat all the 1hders. Prevents less magic dmg then aegis. And aegis just needs to be worn. While run needs it casting 1 element and be able to keep ja buffs up. And pld much better for all the physical coming your way. Vallation adds a nice bit to the pt and lunges will be good if magic dmg becomes less meh
I've been having a lot of fun on NIN/RUN with a multihit katana, after giving RUN a lot of attention for the past month or so, I've been somewhat disillusioned. It'll be worth revisiting once they add merits to make it viable.
What are people using for Run Berever TP sets? Lvling it finally atm, 6hit looks like a lot of work so was thinking on this 7hit /sam:

Sigyn, Asperity, Steelflash, Bladeborn
Thaumas, Skadi's +1, Epona's, Rajas
Atheling, Anguinus, Thaumas, Manibozho
Manibozho legs with my current augments vs thaumas is 10att 10dex 1str vs 5acc, so unsure on them atm.
Also unsure on Sigyn vs Skadi's Mask +1 and Anguinus vs Windbuffet. Don't have Letalis yet.
Dunno how other SJs plan out, but I figure you need 23STP for 7hit /nonsam which would be the above with Skadi's +1 Head/Legs and Rose Strap.
Are you accounting for the accuracy from dex with your current augments when you come up with the 5acc?
Yes, it's only Lv2 Augment (8Att/4Acc) right now.
Can use honed talhum for the acc in ammo slot and free the waist for windbuffet.
Just a random bit of information I found out last night, Lunge can be used to magic burst if you have the appropriate rune enchantments up matching the SC you're doing. Was exping in garliage last night with some LS friends and discovered this, just wanted to report it because I noticed it's not listed on BG wiki.

Yeah we known for awhile its pure magic damage effected by MAB....
It isn't explicitly stated on the Wiki, and you of all people are in no position to be calling anyone out for anything. Don't be a douche
Someone did report that earlier, but I didn't add it to the page because there are no types of elemental magic damage that do not Magic Burst (except maybe skillchains themselves?).
I'd say needing Burst Affinity in the case of elemental blue magic is a good enough counterexample, but it isn't a tremendous deal either way. "Um we've known that forever bro..." is pretty unnecessary though, especially from that guy
What about elemental ws? Can qd mb? Enspells. Bst pet moves can't either
Quick Draw doesn't burst either. Can just say Lunge behaves like a normal nuke, as in it can crit, get resisted and mb.
Ah ok, should have know that was discovered already lol. Anyhow it's a fun job, but I'm having a hard time seeing where it fits in. I guess we'll really see when the AF/Empy and merits are released :O
