There's a post on the JP side, it says they want to fix a few things about Reive, but it mentioned a different time (they mentioned a few more hours). Instead of giving you 10 xp for 1000 damage, it will give 1 xp for 100 damage (so you have less "wasted damage") and make cures actually give you credit.
Seems like they're also readjusting how Rieve EXP works. They confirmed there's a bug with support/healing magic not accruing any points. Furthermore it seems like they will also be adjusting the quota/threshold of actions you need to do in order to begin accruing rewards from Rieves. They acknowledge that Rieve mobs can be hard without an Ochain PLD or a BLU sleep bitch, but they remind us that this is intentional. These lands are wild and untamed and only through Colonization will Rieves becomes easier, either directly through fully Colonizing an area, or indirectly by maximizing the bonuses/buffs on Ionus via Coalition expansions and Edification ranks.
As long as they adjust support/healing on rieves, it'll go a long way.
And Yugl, why would adjusting those 7 areas affect when geo learns a JA? lol Not like servers are entirely going down for this. The maint strongly seems to be for Rieves
How the Fuck are revies hard? I can tank 2 to 3 mobs on monk/dnc solo, sure I can't solo a review but who cares eventually people show up and I start to get more points
Not everyone can solo Rieves. I stumbled upon a Rieve and didn't want to waste my 10min penalty on leaving, problem was I was alone. I pulled a bee to the edge of the Rieve area and was soloing it fine but then shit links and you have 3 bees hitting you for 170-220, doing 1.2k Final Stings and shit. If you're not a PLD or have some crowd control(I was on DRG/RDM) you get owned pretty fast. The mobs have low HP/def but they hit like trucks without buffs.
I remember when WoG came out they did lots of little tweak adjustments to make Campaign suck less, it will be nice they do that here too.

Bullshit, it's not fixed at all.
its definitely something you can't just run into to work on..
unlike with campaign, you don't exactly have NPCs who can distract mobs or tank for you..
and the mobs here do hit like a truck lol
i'm hoping they adjust it a bit..
So far to me, this expansion seems designed to bring players back together and less of people just soloing or dual boxing everything. When I got on and ran around the new areas, it was full of people solo getting butthurt they couldn't get around and do shit solo easily. Suck it up and let it be an MMO again, although I guess its hard after several years of just playing ffxi like its farmville.
The challenge is definitely back, that's for sure. Thank god !

hahahahaa. oh man. Too funny. Go read the official forums for two minutes and tell me if you think that people will "suck it up".
SE went from content being a maybe 2 in difficulty (abyssea) to a 7 in one fell swoop. They're going to have to nerf things down a bit. which is ok, the challenge will still be very real, just some of the more unrealistic parts will be toned down. It happens every expac.
There is plenty of shit for people to solo or dual/tri box all day long in the game right now. It seems to me the way to tone down Adoulin is work on colonization, not just make it easy/soloable.
3-6 people is plenty for Reives so its fairly toned down in terms of what the difficulty could be, bring on immunity to sleep to Reives and we'll have more of a fight on our hands, but would still probably be very easy to handle with 6 players, 2 on barrier, 2 on adds, bard and whm.

Yeah, exactly. I tried as mage, it's awful. It's hardly better now than it was before... maybe you'll get evaluated for 100-150 instead of 0-75. They should have just made the system so that everyone actively participating gets exactly the same amount. Being evaluated for effort in a team-based activity like this makes zero sense... there should just be some kind of minimum effort required to receive a standard EXP/bayld reward.
Also, the 10 minute restriction thing is fucking stupid. I've been kicked out of reives unwantingly at least three times so far. And while supposedly you have five seconds to go back into the area, I swear its more like two seconds... and by the time you see the message it's basically too late with all the battle spam anyway.
