[Update Details]
- Increased the drop rate of certain items in Wildskeeper Reive.
Wonder if Skirmish pieces drop from Wildskeeper Reives.
Real reason: They had no drop pool, But a server unlocked one of them so they were like "Oh shit, we have to put their drops in", so they emergency maint'd them in. (psst I know this ain't true its just a funny thought, AV Anyone?)
Theres probably more they're keeping hush hush on for whatever reason...Why not just take down the 3 zones with Wildkeeper Reives?
probably for the same reason that they did a full server maintenance to increase mining rates in one zone
Spaghetti. Spaghetti code everywhere.
while most of us were sleeping:
What does #2 mean? All 3 sound like their JP>NA translator was sleeping and they tossed that shit into google translate. Maybe Slycer can translate better lol[NA] FINAL FANTASY XI Updated (Apr. 16)

FINAL FANTASY XI
[Update Details]
-Increased Colonization Rate when conquering Colonization Reive and Lair Reive Colonization Rate.
-Decreased attenuation of Colonization Rate when waiting.
-Fixed an issue when engaging Achuka, that monsters around character will not appear.
Pretty much what it says, the rate goes down slower when people leave an area alone. It is weird they always like to say things in a complicated way when they don't need to, though.
i thought it meant the exact opposite?
my interpretation is that it decreases the rate that colonization drops when no colonization or lair reives are up?
edit: Japanese version simply says the colonization "decay rate" has been reduced.
I guess attenuation is a good word
Think we might have a gap in communication because we basically just said the same thing, aside from the reives not being up thing. As far as I can tell that's not a prerequisite, they just decreased the rate at which the colonization rate drops.
I'd post the quote from the JP POL site if I didn't still get that weird thing where my post gets chopped in half whenever I put Japanese in it.
[ Code ] does the job pretty well.
I think it actually just means that the rate that colonization drops has been reduced.Code:時間経過によるコロナイズ・レートの減衰量が引き下げられました。
So what does "rate that colonization drops has been reduced" mean then?
the rate at which the colonization % naturally decreases for each zone over time has been slowed down.
Random numbers incoming!
Let's say that colonization went up by 0.2% for every reive destroyed, and went down by 1% every 2 hours.
After the update, colonization might go down by say, 1% every 4 hours.
Attenuation seems like a good fit for that and what they were doing. Not a commonly used word but I like it
It's not uncommon among programmers. http://www.3dkingdoms.com/weekly/weekly.php?a=17
