A friend linked me the recent FFXI patch notes today for a laugh, we both haven't played in years but still check in to see SE's recent failures. We got to talking about ye olde days, when I had an idea:
What if FFXI on GW2's engine?
Think. About. That. Shit.
Everything is instanced and balanced for 5 members. Dynamis goes from zzz to an action packed clusterfuck of explosions and enemies, so does pretty much everything else now that I think about it. Fighting Odin with dodge mechanics and shit? Bitch you know you want in on that.
Things like Monk's shoulder tackle WS would be like bull's charge that GW2 Warrior gets. Asuran fists would be like hundred blades on bath salts, but even better because you're punching monsters in their fat faces.
DRG jumps would be like, ground targeted, 1,200 range blast finishers that deal damage. Wyvern would probably still be useless due to the way GW2 pets work, BUT I CAN DARE TO DREAM.
Utsusemi could spawn shit like mesmer clones. HWHAO SHIT THIS IS AWESOME.
Warrior would still be warrior, because it's the same shit in every game.
Melee attacks could cleave, missing wouldn't be a thing, and weapon delay would be standardized! DRK would actually be fun without marches and haste!
When I'm a billionaire, I will make this game.
Edit: Plus, there's already a TP system. Warrior's adrenaline is pretty much the same thing.
Also you could even have similar 2hrs, but on 2min recasts instead. Chainspell would be quickness, perfect dodge would actually dodge everything, hundred fists like quickness too I guess? I dunno man.
