GEO Bubbles Causing Lag

Anyone else having this issue? They're worse than Avatar glow for me (about equivalent to Confluxes though). I realize it's probably a video card issue, update drivers, etc. I'm on a laptop (Don't waste your time explaining that's my problem, please. I realize it's not a good thing.) so updating drivers is a huge process, thanks to laptop companies restricting drivers. I'm wondering two things though.

1.) Is anyone else having this problem??

2.) Is there anything I can do to help the issue? There seems to be no Effects filter for it. Suggestions for a .dat swap for it? I don't know how I could even do this successfully without messing anything up considering the unique nature of them.

EDIT: At the moment, I pretty much despise GEOs because of this issue. It's literally like fighting with a Conflux or 2 hovering right in front of me.

Yes. This. I was getting 3 FPS in a Reive I just did with 2 GEOs. 3. I normally get around 18-25 in Reives, depending on how many people are there.

I get a slight slow down due to GEO buffs myself but it doesn't happen all the time and I only notice it when there's a lot going on my screen. But with my 2x 6970s if I can see it sparingly I can't imagine what someone sees with a weaker video card.

I do hope they add an option to disable the graphic for those who can't handle all that aura fun. I like the effect but I wonder if the issue is due to poor optimization on an obsolete game engine??

It's depressing when the game is running like shit in besieged/next to a conflux/whatever while my gpu sits at 1% load.

Wouldnt deleting it just crash your game as soon as the spell(s) would be used? Game calls for certain .dat, searches unable to find, crash because its scared and doesn't know what happened.

The game doesn't crash because it can't find the effect and loses its shit as a result, it crashes because SE got irritated that suddenly all the Darters had vanished from Dragon's Aery. Replacing the file with another less stressful effect should be fine however.

Would like to see this happen. Was only 12 GEOs in there last night when I was mashing alt-1 every minute on my PS2, while watching some shit on Netflix. Haven't had my PS2 lock-up once in the three weeks I've been using it, outside of that annoying 1fps issue they've still yet to fix.
