I got it for 850 including taxes. Not too bad considering how difficult it is to find

So went with my uncle today to his brother-inlaw's gun range to shoot clays which I have never done before. Did decent for it being set up for a tournament with the difficulty set rather high, and had a blast. I dont have my own gun as of now but looking to pick one up, my question is which do you all prefer, over/under or semi-automatic shotguns? Any pros/cons to either?

Over-under is the traditional way, plus you can have two different chokes in each barrel allowing you to be able to increase utility to get the second clay, or if they throw a rabbit into the mix. Auto would be a good choice if you want to do something with it in addition to shooting clays or bird hunting.

Over/unders are great, however my friend has a saiga semi-auto and there aren't many things more fun than it. For that type of shooting though, I wouldn't ever take a semi-auto. For a range weapon will still targets it's superb though.

Semi-auto does fine with clays, heck I've done it with a pump.

I know it does fine, but I still prefer pretty much anything else for that type of shooting.

I shot both today, and idk just something about shooting the over/under was more fulfilling. I dont plan on shooting too often with my work/school schedule. Just for the price alone if there isnt any astronomical difference I may just pick up a semi since they seem to be more reasonably priced.

If you live anywhere near an Academy sports, look at a Yildiz over under. They have them for like 399

ah, thank you for that. I'll go try it out oneday, not sure what length I need. I'm 6'4 and shot my 5'9 uncles' today so it was a little awkward to shoot at times.

26" or 28" are the usual length barrels. The LOP(length of pull) will be about the same, since the buttstock, receiver, and foregrip will be the same.

Be forewarned, if you decide to get a Yildiz get the Limbsaver butt pad that goes with it. They are great guns for the money, but they kick like a mule and you will notice it after a few cases of clays. Or by the time you limit out during dove season.

I think I made a stupid trade last week. I traded my brand new .40 Glock 22 Gen 4 for a used Sig P229 Equinox in .40. I sent it into Sig to get it checked out and I guess the slide is crap. The guy that owned it abused it like crazy. I might get them to swap out the slide for a new one if I purchase a new barrel from them. I should have left well enough alone :/

I'll post a pic of it when I get it back from Sig.

Just got it back from Sig. They really stand behind their products. They replaced the entire slide for free as a courtesy. Looks great, cant wait to take it to the range.

That is pretty nice. I have a .40 now and if I decide to get another I might check those out. The cost of ammo is still pretty high so I'm leaning towards using my CZ75 just for at home protection and getting a 9mm for the range. If I do go with another .40 though I'm definitely going to consider that. Love how my friends sig shoots.
