[Repost] Action against RMT Activity Involving Power Levelin

    http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/pol...ews22167.shtml
    http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/pol...ews21808.shtml

We are currently investigating players who advertise power leveling services via Shout/Yell, collect gil from the participants, and then use that gil to engage in RMT-related activity. Our investigations thus far have revealed that these players regularly advertise in the Jeuno area and we have responded by terminating the FINAL FANTASY XI service accounts of those found guilty of this behavior.

Please be aware that advertising in such a manner in itself can be disrupting to other players and we may take action against players who continuously advertise for the above kind of parties. This also includes behavior that helps facilitate such activity. Please take caution in not supporting RMT-related activity.

In addition, if you witness other players engaging in this behavior, please report the details to the Special Task Force via the Square Enix Support Center.

Disappointing. The RMTs doing it on Asura are pretty nice and even give a few bonus hours now and then in their FC parties.

Even more dissapointing when you are just a normal player making money and get donkey punched for shouting a bunch to fill up because adversting shouts is disruptive <.<

So this basically means legit players can't offer to sell spots in FC parties either. That seems wrong.

Unless they have revised their policy, they have made it pretty clear that legit players won't get in trouble.

I should add that it is good of them to communicate their policy clearly to make it explicit. It's a better approach than just mysteriously banning and letting the players guess why.

However, in the event players are supporting RMT activity and services, there is a possibility of being punished as well. Therefore, we ask users to be careful not to involve themselves in activity that is associated with RMT.
So ya, unless they decided to change their policy in the last couple months (and the message they sent out then was pretty much the same if I remember right), they still don't intend on banning normal players for cleave parties.

My favorite is those who shout for a FC party, take your money after getting 6-10 people and then log out, pocketing your money while you are waiting at the abyssea zone.

Pretty sure you can GM for that and get a refund and the person in some sort of trouble, I often see people posting pictures of getting a GM tell, pulling them to jail and getting a refund, usually mentioning something about staying away from exp leech parties or something then send them back to their home point.

It may take a month and you'll probably long since then forgot about it.

Considering that people have both used these services and may advertise like ones (which have no RMT connections), no, this is not moot at all.

high sum of gil? I can have a job from 30-99 while I'm at work, for a fee that takes an hour to make in game.

I think you're missing his point. To maximize EXP in a Dom Op party, he'd probably have to be there, to you know, turn in the Ops---I think if he played FFXI at work he might get fired. For a FC Leech spot, he can literally go afk, go to work, come back and be lv99 and not waste any of the time he has actually playing the game on leveling. Worst case scenario he has to waste a few hours skilling up, which he'd probably have to do regardless.

i know this like i said tho people Q.Q over lost gil its there own damn fault for trust those people with their gil, u take a risk anytime and everytime u trade gil or items... i understand that u can afk and come back as a 99 thats not the problem the problem at hand is people rmt'ing the gil and people are upset about that, just need to get used to it, its happend since this game started

You're also missing (or intentionally ignoring) the point about players who don't pay RMTs, but who like to run FCs themselves, who may be under scrutiny.

I have never used these services, and I never will, but it is news that's relevant to the community. It may not be relevant to you, just as it isn't to me, but it is to someone, and more than one someone.

understandable, but there are always other ways to make gil, and no i dont believe its 100% your fault if u get jacked, but there are other ways to do thses things in game some people are just lazy and want the easy way to fast gil or fast lvling
