    Ignoring all the.. let's say "stuff".. and getting back on topic, I think the Veronica Mars movie had a reasonable approach -- donate money, get posters, shirts, line in the credits, bluray of the movie, etc. That way, you're essentially paying up front for your product, and the money is going into making the movie. Just asking people to give him money to make this movie is retarded.. but I guess it worked..

    I agree that people like Zach Braff should not be using Kickstarter to make this movie. With Veronica Mars, the creator Rob Thomas literally TRIED and COULDN'T get full funding from major studios. Not to mention he's Rob Thomas (collective "who?" from people) and likely doesn't have millions in net worth. But this is Zach Braff we are talking about. If he was getting $350,000 per episode of Scrubs, the guy probably has upwards of $20 million net worth. Bitch please...

    However, not sure I agree with the other parts of your post. For better or for worse, every Kickstarter "donation" is for an actual (albeit somewhat overpriced) product. You aren't meant to share in the movie's profits, because the product has already been given to you. I looked over the Zach Braff product list and there is stuff like scripts, prints, t-shirts, and invites to the advance screening of the movie depending on donor level. For the Veronica Mars movie, if you donated something over $35, I believe you got a digital copy of the movie AND a T-shirt. And many DO give credit to donors.
