Thread: Zach Braff begs internet for money, gets over $1.4 million    

Huh, didn't know this guy was such a major douche. Scrubs was cool but I never paid a bit of attention his way other than that.

Just another good thing being taken advantage of. I'd personally never get behind something like this, especially knowing he's perfectly capable of doing it himself. That he's at 2 million already is rather disgusting.

As for the wealthy using Kickstarter, I honestly agree to an extent. If you're perfectly capable of doing whatever the fuck you want, why are you asking the general public, who probably won't make as much as you have now in their lifetime, for money simply because you have bullshit conditions that the studios don't want to bother with?

But on the other hand, there are those who get the complete dick and need the assistance to keep their IP/project/blah going. I can respect those people. This guy is just.. yeah. A douche that wants to do whatever he wants but doesn't want to use his money to do it.

You know, was talking to a friend about this, and was wondering what ever happened to that rich woman who got thousands of dollars for her daughter's science trip or w/e?

I guess he said her kickstarter page was still up, but I remember tons of people reporting her to kickstarter as she violated the tos. So does that means she actually got the money? If so, I guess that set the precedence that kickstarter doesn't actually give a fuck who uses it, so you can easily expect this kind of thing to get worse and worse.

Doesn't sound familiar. There was the woman that claimed she wanted to send her kid to "rpg maker camp" or some shit, and later changed the goal to... I don't even fucking know. closest one I can think of.

Good lord that's downright disgusting and insulting to anyone reading the article. A nice "fuck you we got the money anyway" in the main article, then they name the game some shit as a fuck you in the general direction of the people who disagreed with their shady methods. Not to mention the tard is already named one of fortune's most powerful female entrepreneurs

She's been on the site a few other times for various stupid things she could've done herself.

I saw this a while back as a nice compilation of the stupidity going on in the RIT. She was campaigning/spamming everywhere to get people to fund the rubbish, and it falls under a fund my life project, which is against the TOS. But KS saw it as a campaign for a video game and they let it slide. Which is equally stupid because funding for an education program to create a video game is not the same as creating a video game.

Stupidity immortalized. Bet she wishes she'd paid for the shit herself now. Game is supposed to come out in July. The internet will open that wound and pour some salt into it, I'm sure.

oh ya that's the one, dunno where I got science camp from. But ya if kickstarter thinks that's ok, then expect a lot worse than zack braff showing up on there.

I don't have a problem donating to things like this. I donated to Veronica Mars, and to this.

I loved Garden State, and I'm going to drop money going to see his next film anyway, so I might as well shell out now and help make it happen. A few bucks out of my pocket versus possibly not seeing something that I'd love to see on film, I don't see the big deal. Same with Veronica Mars, my wife and I love the show, we dropped fifty bucks and got a copy of the movie and 2 shirts (and other intangible stuff like production updates). You can't walk into a store and get that for fifty bucks.

I certainly don't expect him to shell out his own money to fund the movie entirely, that's a horrible financial decision for an individual regardless of how large his bank account is.
