Computer Sound Issues

Can't figure out what happened. I went to watch something on UMPlayer and then it muted my sound all together. I've never had this happen before. So I re-installed my drivers and then sound worked just fine. Then went back to UMPlayer and it did it all over again and this time I can't get sound back no matter what I do. However, on the second time I re-installed the drivers (after UMPlayer did it to me again) I got the system sound when the computer was booting down, but then sound never came back upon the restart.

All sound levels seem to be working (even system sound) at least from the sound meters. I've tried all devices and even the headphone jack and I still can't get it to work.

Anybody have any ideas?

Is this something a reformat would even fix?

wee fixed my own problem! When i re-installed my drivers they overrode my sound card so I couldn't even access the sound card drivers. Once I deleted the basic sound drivers it then gave my sound card priority. I have no idea why the hell UMPlayer messed up my drivers

umplayer is pretty old and isn't updated. you might want to look at smplayer with mplayer or mplayer2.
