My guess is since Abyssea basically lets you skip the entire game, they figured Adoulin should skip Abyssea for good measure. Seriously, when having friends carry you through even a modest chunk of content to be able to get this stuff happens, you might well be able to just give the middle finger to R/M/E and Abyssea gear entirely, and the zones will simply revert to being nothing more than Gil and exp farms-by-alliance.
I don't mind new better gear coming in. The issue I have is that the gap between the new weapons and the old is too obscene. If you don't have the new stuff then you may as well not bother. Personally I'd have preferred a steady progression.
Good. Fuck all that bullcrap recycled content they added while they were making FFXIV. /grumpycat
Pya'ekue Belt +1
DEF:15 Haste+10
If one if the ingredients to make this is an NQ Dynamic Belt, then I will be a very happy man! I have 14 of them that I can't get rid of!
Wish they would just come out and say what their plan is for this expansion. Seems like they wont tell us what their intentions are.
I don't understand how they're going to make this work with old content. If the weapons are somewhat obtainable, they just easy-mode'd all previous content with DPS increases of 25-40% (over the optimal 99RME previous setup) across the board.
They can still build a steady progression from here on out. It's not like this is the last set of gear every introduced. For what all that matters, this is basically the new starting point for the game. I'm sure the R/E/M buff will bring those weapons into the 200+ DMG realm too (assuming those are REAL stats and not something SE is doing as a joke), eventually.
Also for those complaining about how their "hard-earned" gear is being overwritten completely, what is truly difficult to acquire right now? The most time-consuming thing to do right now as far as end-game armor is concerned is to make a Salvage+1 piece, which really isn't very time-consuming at all compared to just about anything from the past. With that in mind, doesn't it make more sense that those gear pieces should be stepping stones to this new amazing stuff rather than the top tier of stuff? I mean Nyzul stuff was great, but there's nothing tough about winning 5 F80 runs, not even the RNG behind flooring up.
People whine as usual, time passes, people shut up after they learn how much work it actually takes to get stuff!
Someone posted earlier about getting this zip hosted online somewhere, can anybody do that?
I can't even start to patch >.<
There's an "upgrade" for Phos belt, and an "upgrade" for ghillie ring.
Maybe they will require phos and ghillie respectively to be crafted.
I saw some sick options for hands/heads for nukes (mages), some interesting additional haste pieces (haste+5 feet for a lot of jobs, and +4 for many others), a sick curepot hands piece and a lot of interesting accessories.
Earrings with set bonuses, rings with stp+5 and other cool stuff, cool waists, cool back and so on.
Neat!
Looking forward at those new haste pieces, they might open up new interesting builds for some jobs.
What makes you think they care? There's wide swathes of zone after zone nobody bothers with because they're no longer relevant save for the occasional Abyssea pop. This gets people out of the candy-store that was Abyssea and into the new expansion(s) from now on, which means it's going to be relevant content the way the current devs like it.
Man I was just cracking wise on the thought that maybe an animator would do something for once. And anyway, let's just all agree that everything we know about this game is a lie now, take the blue pill, and help save mankind, only to have the third movie completely invalidate the notion of having escaped the Matrix making it seem like the entire trilogy was taking place within the Matrix.
