    Anyone use foobar?

I could have sworn it had an apple lossless plugin, but I can't find it anywhere.

Anyone know where I can pick it up?

Hmmm it's not playing mine, though it's not alac, it's .m4a and gives an error when trying to play

I did a search about *.m4a and foobar, seems this is a very common issue. I don't know why, sometimes it's blamed on drm. (I'm a winamp user; custom install to avoid weird toolbars. No problems playing anything, and I also use the classic skin on that.)

You can try looking at the official site for a drop in that'd enable it, but I'm first to admit this is out of my depth. I assume you already have either Itunes or The CCCP or The Shark's Codecs or something of that nature, tho if foobar is like VLC, external codecs may be no help...

Mind posting the file that won't play? Would make it easier to find out why.

I use foobar exclusively, though don't really run across different formats than mp3, flac, or audio ripped from mkv/mp4 containers (.mka, useful for stripping the audio out of an mp4 downloaded off youtube to prevent transcoding losses). MKVMerge is what I use for this, though foobar does play mp4/mkv flatout as audio of the ones I've tried.

You're right, that will not play in foobar, at least as of v1.1.2. It refuses to acknowledge it's even a file to be played if it has .aac extension. I was able to play this with windows media player and media player classic; I have some specific codecs installed that may be allowing this. The suggestion above for CCCP should probably work to let your WMP or MPC play it. With that you could probably find a way to transcode these.

Using mediatab, it dumped this info about the file. Looks like it was dumped through iTunes. I've never used iTunes before, so I don't know if it has options to transcode files (probably not).
