Not yet technically, but for all intents and purposes you could say that he's been introduced in a couple of ways (nickname and actual name).

I think it's more likely that actual name becomes Speedy, considering his obsession with finding him and the skills he already possess.

The character has already been introduced last season, the actual use of the name was used in another way, and I doubt it will be used on the actual character.

Thea's nickname is speedy, while her boyfriend Roy Harper (who is usually wearing a red hoody) has been introduced and has been looking to join Arrow since he saved him.

It's pretty obvious who becomes Speedy, if they use it as a nickname at all it will be because he's Thea's boyfriend and Ollie used to call her that.

Though, yeah, they might not even use the name anyway.

Fully except Ollie to adopt green arrow as his name this season. Roy will use red arrow at the end of season 2 or some time in season 3.

Speedy's name in the comic is Roy Harper, so like I said, yes, quite obvious he'll be Speedy. The only question will be whether Thea realizes his brother and boyfriend are vigilantes with him going by the name Speedy.

We know all this, the point is that in the tv series Thea is already called speedy..., I really doubt that they will call Roy's character speedy also. We understand that he "is" Speedy the character but he most likely will not be called that in the show.

dunno why not. I'm guessing one of these things happen:
1. Thea dies, and Roy decides to use the name "Speedy" to avenge And honor Thea.
2. Thea finds out about Oliver and Roy, and gives him the name "Speedy".
3. Oliver gives him the name Speedy in memory of his sister (see 1)
4. He gets the idea of "Speedy" from Thea

Out of those, a variation of 1 or 4 is the most likely. I'm guessing originally Oliver will be against Roy, who probably decides to become a vigilante himself as a result of last season finale rather than keep looking for Oliver, and chooses the name Speedy for above mentioned reasons.

There's several completely logical reasons how he can take the name Speedy.

He's also no longer Speedy in the comics though either. They could just go with his current Arsenal name.

It's likely Speedy was just a throw back to the comics. They don't have to or might not even considering calling him Speedy. Wait and see I guess.

Ah shit, very clever how they handled Canary's sonic scream.

Liked the episode. Continues to be one of my favorite (only) network shows. Not sure if Black Canary had any history with LoS, but still cool they're binging it into the show.

As soon as they said his name I got really excited for this season. I already love the show but now that they are clearly looking to expand with some serious villain action I'm really pumped. Plus with what we already know about the other people showing up this seasons and spin offs etc I really hope they flex it all into the DC movie universe.

Felicity had multiple wardrobe changes.

And yeah I freaked out when that name was dropped at the end, Black Canary is awesome (nice mask), and Slade Wilson might start to get a little more interesting!
