I'm scared of what I think the message of this show is supposed to portray.

I have this horrible sinking feeling like the whole plot is going to climax with the Alliance being wrong, Ledo being wrong, and how awesome it is to coexist with nature and worship squids.

Not what I want. I want Ledo to be vindicated. I want some annihilation.

Gulk just has different tastes. Rather than caring about the plot, he cares about the PLOT.

And while I'm frustrated with the way the show is going, I actually still like it. It's not bad writing or something that's annoying me, it's how I stupid the people of Gargantia are. The way they're being stupid is completely understandable though. They're pussies who can't stand up for themselves. They're not living in peaceful coexistence, they're hiding. If the show ends a certain way I'll just consider it a let down, not a bad show. But if shit gets real, then I can be all "THAT'S RIGHT BITCHES, YOU SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO LEDO", and it will be so satisfying.

I guess the opening scenes is depressing enough to be his doing, I can see that, as far as the last episode goes...

They didn't take the bitch move and make the commander survive. Once again Ledo's logic is correct. Who are they to tell him he's tormented? He seems completely at peace with what he's doing to me. He realized that his brother was killed by the way of life that the Alliance was forced to adopt in order to battle Hideauze. Thus, he becomes determined to make sure that Earth doesn't face the crisis that the Alliance does. He even gives Bebel the ocarina, and basically tells him that he's not going to let the situation end up where he would have to be sacrificed like his brother.

But no, he's tormented. Right. Sure.
