Not like it's going to EVO anyways because it's on XB1 since everything there is on PS3.

Same here. I loved playing the N64 one, but there's no way in hell I'd put up with the Xbox One's bullshit, plus I've never even heard of this Double Helix company developing it. Maybe if the stars and planets align and it gets ported to PS4 or Steam somewhere down the line, but I highly doubt it.

Also, is it just me, or do Jago and Sabrewulf look nothing like what they used to?

Killer Instinct is a day-one digital-only release on Xbox One, and features -- get this -- one character. Jago is free to play on launch day. Everyone else -- unspecified returning characters as well as original fighters -- will cost money. Price is to-be-determined (of course).

Is this the start of a new trend? With Xbox Live Arcade vanishing into the greater Games Marketplace, perhaps free-to-play is the new trial version, and you'll nickel and dime your way to a more complete version. Hopefully trials of some sort will still mandated so players can try out everything as it hits Xbox Live.

Fucking ridiculous. Whatcha bet they go the Capcom route and release a "Super" Killer Instinct a year later and charge ridiculous amounts for alternate-color costume packs. >_>

It wouldn't be the start of a trend when there are already 2 other games doing that: Tekken Revolution, and DoA5 F2P edition. I actually don't think DoA is out yet, but TR came out today.

I knew this pile of shit was going to be an Arcade release. There's nothing KI about it. Generic art, generic animation, lack of gore, it has half-assed written all over it.

MS is really driving this theme home, repeatedly, that they don't give a shit about the gaming community. Let's release our "historic" Rare IP like some skeevy iOS app game that is designed to take advantage of 5yr olds w/ an iPad.

I don't know enough about the Tekken game, but the DoA one is not comparable to this at all. In that game, all characters are fully playable in Versus and online modes, the paid content is all story modes/challenges/costumes/etc., but you can get very deep into the competitive aspects of the game with the F2P version.

That;s not how it works bro. If a game is tied to a sole system, they will accommodate for this. Such as for Super Smash Melee/Brawl and Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

However if the XBOX Juan doesn't backpedal out of that stay online once every 24/7 shit, they won't be at EVO for that reason alone.
