Sakurai's description of Mega Man was awesome. They really went all out with him.
All I care about is Captain Falcon being god tier again and fixing his Knee of the North Star.
So here's what moves Megaman has available to him as far as I can tell:
-Mega Upper (special)
-Rush Coil (special)
-Slide (standard)
-Mega Buster (standard/smash)
-Super Arm (throw)
-Metal Blade (special)
-Crash Bomber (special)
-Leaf Shield (special)
-Top Spin (special)
-Hard Knuckle (aerial)
-Spark Shock (smash)
-Flame Blast (smash)
-Slash Claw (aerial)
-Flame Sword (aerial)
As one can see, there appear to be 6 special moves for Megaman... that means either some of them are actually really standard moves (Top Spin is a maybe since Mario's dair in Brawl was a nerfed Mario Tornado) or there's more than 4 special moves per character now? Or, and this one is far out there, but maybe the player can customize his special attacks?
Heck after that CS and video, I want Capcom to just give the rights to MM to Nintendo to make new Megaman games... >.>
This 1000x times over.
But I'll master a mid-tier Megaman and then pick a solid alt and be happy.
Geno would be orgasmic, but I think thats asking a bit much with the path Paper Mario series has taken.
I don't see them doing only 20 slots, and 35 seems a touch high considering the 3DS port too. 28-30 seems almost perfect by replacing the clones (Lucas, Falco) with some new blood. Ike -> Chrom is a no brainer and maybe a return by Marth.
From what I remember of the Sonic deal, is that they wanted Mega Man last time but had problems getting Capcom on board. Sega came along last minute and was like "use Sonic" and Nintendo didn't want to wait to fill literally the last character slot so they did Sonic.
I almost can't describe how excited I am. This is beyond Snake being in Brawl. This is even better than when Megaman 9 was released after a decade of no games. I've transcended to a new echelon of hype never felt by mortal humans. To say it succinctly, I am berry excite.
Damn, I'm just now realizing how amazing Simon Belmont from the NES and SNES would play in smash. Very slow and clunky, but so many weapons and amazing range. Could also do Arthur. Would love to see Billy or Jimmy Lee, Ryu, Dr. Wily, Eggman... Obscure characters would be fucking Solar Jetman or the Battletoads, or one of the kids from Nightmare on Elm Street. Shit, put the guy from the Goonies up in this bitch.
There's just soooooooo much great NES-era lore to throw in this game. That's the one thing that Smash, and Nintendo has over the other two consoles: History. Back when you were called a fucking nerd for loving games. Before this brobox brofist popped-collar Halo bullshit.
Wonder if Nintendo will release DLC Characters? Would somewhat solve the problem of relying on the 3DS cartridge memory if that is indeed an issue, storing data on the SD instead. Paid or not I'd love to have all kinds of characters coming down the pipes like once every few months or something. Then you really have some limitless possibilities. 60 characters? Sure, why not more?

Spoiler: show
I wanna be excited for this, but considering how much they dumbed down Brawl compared to Melee, I have a feeling they'll butcher this even more. Hopefully they'll get modded sooner or later so they become better.
I don't know if removing wavedashing necessarily 'dumbed down' the game considering it was an oversight in the first place. I enjoyed playing Brawl, but of course if they removed tripping that would be just swell.
From what I've seen, looks like it'll be same characters, but different stages tailored to each console's game selection, which kills the prospect of any cross-play.
