    Vana'fest TV 2013 (aka that secret JP video)

    With typical disregard for other territories, SE decided to hold a "Vana'fest TV 2013" live event showing all sorts of new info about current and upcoming content in a 4 hour live stream which took place two days ago. Would have been nice if they mentioned it was happening, even though it wasn't planned on being localized, but we didn't even get that courtesy.

    At any rate, someone recorded and posted the full video on Youtube (there was also a Nanaa Mihgo concert thingy uploaded in 3 parts if you check the same guy's Youtube account).

    I can't watch all the parts for some reason, but watch the 6th video starting from 17:00. They show concept art for new monsters, new armor, new areas, new NPCs, new weapons, etc. Cool stuff.

    Skirmish gear example augments - stuff is item level 113.

    Remember, the old Skirmish augmentation process was random within a pool, and we already know there are 3 tiers of new augment stones, so these are probably just mid to high-range sample results, not necessarily the best (or worst) possible results, and not necessarily the only possible augments (although PDT is obviously guaranteed on everything).

    Great stuff! Too bad I can't understand a word of it. It sounds like the endgame area is going to be a literal descent into hell/ Hades? Maybe Tartarus from the original trailer. We will all get punished for our sins!

    MNKS, SAM, and PUP are getting some serious store TP and damage mitigation gear. I wonder how big these augments will be with higher tier stones.

    In other news, all of this new Skirmish armor is very... red.

    And again, remember these are all example results, not necessarily the best, worst, or only stats you can get. Pretty clear that you can't not get PDT, though.

    The artifact armor upgrade will push AF up to item level ~109, according to this (as expected, same as RUN and GEO).

    Im guessing lvl 50s AF v1? Is the AF upgrade coming end of month or sometime in the future?

    They better summarize all this information and make an English post about it. This is a travesty that this was done as a JP ONRY event without any mention of it to other audiences.

    @ Treize - no timing, but it's in the third list of stuff along with RME upgrades and Empyrean WS stuff, so I'm guessing it's the farthest off of anything they talked about (definitely not this month).

    Agreed 110%. Can't even watch the Youtube showing due to shit internet. D: I like that they're at least putting forth effort on what many try and pass off as a dying game, but they gotta spread the info out better.

    Any chance of some highlights? I see mentioned above of an endgame area, delving directly into hell or something? Empy WS adjustments (where they goin with that now?) etc, I'm sure there's plenty of other gems in there.

    They didn't really talk specific about RME upgrade or Empy WS, just mentioned that it's still in the works and coming. The only thing that far off they gave a bit of detail about was the AF upgrade, like I mentioned before. For whatever reason I can't watch parts 2 through 5 of the video on my phone, only 1 and 6, so I'm only going off info from those two. The first video was useless, it was basically an Alienware advertisement, people dancing with goblin hats, and playing around in Monstrosity. The last video had all of the "future stuff" info, as you'd expect. If you start it from 17 minutes on part 6/6 you'll see the concept art showing stuff like..

    New monsters: Boar-type monster with long horns
    New PCs (or monsters?): Skeleton in crazy armor, headless knight
    New armor: White knight armor, some other sets also, nice looking designs
    New areas: Concept art of the ice/snow area (presumably Kamihr Piedmont), as well as some other underworld/destroyed city looking place, and one last thing that did look straight out of Pacific Rim as mentioned earlier.
    New weapons: Not sure what these are, likely a new high-end set of weapons (couple of swords, axe, shield, staff, and polearm were shown)

    The sixth video also went into detail about the Skirmish augments showing some possibilities for each piece of armor, which I translated in posts on the last page. They also talked vaguely about future updates to add solo content, etc., and talked in a lot of generalities about focusing on innovation, blah blah.

    If anyone else wants to brief us on videos 2 through 5, feel free! I won't be able to watch them until later today. Still, I'm guessing most of the interesting information about the future was contained in that last part.

    At least from the looks of the new red armors, they're reusing the old synergy-aug armors. Always liked some of those sets, especially the blm set with its cool hat.

    add: watching fifth vid, the girl's character (taru rdm) DCs at ~14-15min in the vid, they're inside a BCNM at horlias peak lol. It's the six orc bc. Then, after getting back, she gets kicked from the game back to desktop (~28min) just as they start the fight (seems like they just restarted from before, with item and entered the bc again). They have an ochain pld there who holds everything while they get back in. They he dies as he invites them back into pt lol (gets stunned just long enough). They lose. Their little screams and yells are so funny.

    add2: forth vid has some concept art: a mini sheep pet? looks cute. And a chibi qiqirn? Then later half of vid has them in some bc with a kraken. They win.
