i was a pac > biggie man myself until late teens early 20s
Look guys, I like what Pac did, what his lyrics say and the stories he told.
Imma get shot up for this, but I think that Takeover is far and away better than Ether to the point where I don't understand how people think Nas won based on that song. Don't get me wrong, I LIKE the song, it's fun to jam and sing to, but take over is a better diss.
nothing fucking with sweet and sour sauce this year though, lmao
Jadakiss doesn't have heart anymore, otherwise he would have been King of New York right after the 50 Cent/Jadakiss/Ghostface Killah 3 way beef.
OK, lets split hairs and say we see Tupac differently.
He was definitely a legend as far as inspiring the minds of youth. His delivery was solid. He's wordplay was decent. He made a few moving songs. From there his fans built him up as a hip-hop matryr of sorts, even more after his death. I see him as a great pretender who adopted himself into a gangsta lifestyle, then proceeded to make his music from there. Biggie was living the life and grew up right in the heat of it every day. His flows were much more deep and more meaningful, while using an extremely basic vocabulary while making his points connect, while inspiring even more people than Tupac.
Ironically I made this a Biggie vs 2pac discussion and lost sight of the point at hand. Lets say he's a "legend" then.
No. Nas' Hot 97 Diss > Ether > Takeover. Jay-Z was talking reckless in Takeover, that wasn't even a diss at that point.
and yeah lupes adolf line was tight
not rly impressed w cartoon and cereal, all those breaks and shit are annoying, hit me up with something else
Really? Because a lot of what I get from Ether is "Yous a dick riding faggot" "dick sucking lips" "gay z" and "cockafella records" and jay z is ugly. Seriously, he comes off as ridiculously butthurt and the only meaningful thing he conveys in that song is how homophobic he is with all the slurs. Essentially, it's a 16 year old's idea of a diss. It really detracts from some other stuff he brought up, about how he's not true to rap or some nas shit. IMO, he murdered nas with the lines about his career and how he has a "1 hot album every 10 year average." "I made it a hot line, you made it a hot song." Also referencing fuckin Nas's baby momma...
Like I said, I like Ether more as a song, I think Takeover is by far the better diss. But No Vaseline doe...
maad city, p&p, money trees, spiteful chant, hiiipower are my favs from kdot i think.
