They mentioned they would be adding weather forecasting NPCs shortly after 2.3 in one of the recent interviews so... maybe wait on doing sightseeing?

Q: Please add a NPC which tells you the weather!
A: We're planning to add weather forecasters shortly after the release of patch 2.3. The weather is going to be involved in some other activities besides fishing towards the release of patch 2.3.

Seems half-assed that they would add this content first before the forecasters, but it wouldn't be the first stupidly out-of-order patch content they've added.

I'm half tempted to just figure out the weather cycle due to sightseeing. Weather isn't random and just like Dodore weather in 1.0, it follows a pattern. Case in point, seems like weather is the same on all servers at the same time. Funny thing about the vistas is that it's designed so most people don't know wtf they are suppose to be looking at.

It shouldn't be too hard to figure out really. Makes me wonder if the game has "seasons" where certain weather becomes more or less common.

So trying for log #18, and just can't get it to work. Tried 5am in the rain (not showers), and no luck. Tried in the fog like another person said, no luck. Tried it in the PMs, no luck. What the fuck is it? You can ask in shout if anyone has gotten it, which is "yes, but I don't remember time/weather" which likely means full of shit.

Has anyone here actually done it? #18, east of drybone near the goobbue.

What emote did you try? I haven't managed to find Rain in Eastern Thanalan yet :s

I have a prevailing theory it might be /comfort instead of /pray or /lookout, but again haven't tested it personally obviously. Just curious if you ran through the whole gamut or not

FFXI did, I'd be surprised if FFXIV did not.

There's no way I know of to check the "day of the week" or "month" in XIV tho

/pray primarily, but I pretty much cycle through a whole bunch of them just to make sure now. There was about 5-6 other people there, all trying different emotes. And it was definitely rain instead of showers. Everyone was excited to finally get it, and... nothing. That was yesterday before the emergency maintenance though, so it could have been broken too, even though some claimed to have gotten it before then.

running around in your house with an item seemed to make it fall out of my hand or some shit. Even locked a item in my inventory till I logged out for some shitty reason lol. Might have something to do with change pose or w/e tho have to see latter if that is what messed it up.
