As someone who wasted a ton of time leveling and actively using FSH, I completely understand their viewpoint. It's not so much the drops that matter; it's the experience itself that holds the real value.

After insanely long days working and looking after my family, I grew to appreciate small pleasures like gathering/fishing in the more lovely parts of the game while listening to podcasts or chill, downtempo music. I also understand that others nearby, especially those who can make better use of the area's mobs, can find this unbelievably frustrating. It's a collision between two completely incompatible motivations.

Extrapolate this little, insignificant exchange into the real world, and all sorts of parallels become apparent.

Although, to be topical, I suppose my fail is reading far too much into this.

I understand the whole metagaming 'muh efficiency' mindset, sure, but that doesn't mean the lady's wrong for wanting to do something that relaxes them. Obviously the most cooperative thing would've been for her to find her to go to whatever her second favorite is, but sometimes you're only in the mood for a specific thing. Hell, I even agree that Urth's Gift is a pretty damn relaxing place, it gives me a bit of a nostalgia rush for Macalania Woods.

I think part of finding a relaxing activity is finding a place where you're not likely going to run into other people to compete with. Dude was claiming mobs and having Titan hold them just so we wouldn't have claim. How could that possibly be relaxing? Go take up yoga or something.

Bonding i45+ crafting gear on other mobs to acquire mats... I've done that before, I find it too slow for getting multiple sets of gear spiritbonded. I was bonding to make materia to do melds, not sell for gil. Sheep and raptors are too low-leveled, hippos are too spread out for my taste and boars... people are often farming them or running through the area and aggroing stuff. Money is not hard to come by, if I need to make some, I'll do that.

Gonna try out that Sahagin-ship-quest trick, though!
