Bullets and hair will fly as Gonzo brings the heroine of Platinum Games' action/hack and slash to anime in Bayonetta: Bloody Fate set to open for a limited Japanese theatrical run November 23rd. Fuminori Kizaki (Afro Samurai, Basilisk) directs with a cast that includes Atsuko Tanaka (Ghost in the Shell's Major) as Bayonetta, Mie Sonozaki as Jeanne, Daisuke Namikawa as Luka, Miyuki Sawashiro as Cereza, Tesshō Genda as Rodin, Wataru Takagi as Enzo and Norio Wakamoto as Balder.

Bayonetta is kick ass. Animation has a MadHouse vibe to it, I luvs me some MadHouse.

The game is kick ass, the storyline and everything else.. not so much. I think I skipped 95% of the cutscenes. Why make an anime missing the one important thing? I guess Japan will still eat up the fanservice.

The Gungrave anime proves that there's a chance, however slight, that this could still have a really good story. They made a fantastic something out of nothing there.

Gungrave was great until things came back to the present and followed the game more closely lol.

I won't deny that the later episodes went action heavy/story light, but they did such an amazing job with the early story episodes that it still worked for me as a whole.

I've not seen it yet but please temper your expectations.

It's by a nearly bankrupt studio and is staffed by the people who did the Iron Man and X-Men anime, both of which were garbage of the highest caliber.

My expectations are in check, I just wanna see it. I'm not expecting much from the story, just hoping to see some nice animation and art. If it fails on that then it'll be a bust.
