How the Devs choose the fightershttp://www.siliconera.com/2013/11/22...se-characters/Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is an upcoming fighting game featuring an all-star cast of light novel characters from various series published by ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint. A while ago, we saw a few details on the game’s characters, but more recently, key developers working on the game spoke with Dengeki and shared some of their thoughts on character selection.
During the interview, Dengeki asks producer Ryutaro Nonaka and director Takahara Terada how exactly they decide on which characters will be in the game.
“Firstly, it’s got to be ‘the most popular characters’,” answers Terada. “Objectively speaking, the goal is to get protagonists and heroines. However, it may not look that way, as we’ve also selected some of the most popular characters of their respective works.”
“In addition, we’ve also considered using characters who would transition well into fighting games,” continues Terada. “For example, look at the ‘A Certain’ series, where we have a playable character of Misaka instead of Touma [Kamijou, from A Certain Magical Index]. Touma has the ability to negate an opponent’s abilities, which would make him into a character who’d require some sort of habit. For this reason, we’ve made him into a support character.”
“There’s also the problem of ‘if we make a fighting game with nothing but popular characters, they’ll all be the same’,” chimes in Nonaka. “If there are long-ranged characters, then we’d also like to have some short-ranged characters as well, so we gave a lot of thought to the roster adjustment.”
“When I first thought of the roster on my own, I really wanted to have characters from various works, and I decided to with one character per-title, but ended up having one title with two [characters],” shares Terada with a laugh. “While I can’t tell you which title for now, but I’ll just say that I was so indecisive, I bent the rules a little. Also, there was a little drama during the character selection for Durarara!!, as it wasn’t decided until the very last moment to have it be Shizuo.”
“We really wanted to include Durarara!!, but we couldn’t decide which character,” says Nonaka. “Then Terada and I went to meet the staff members of Dengeki Bunko, where we saw a Shizuo figure in the office, and he looked way too cool [laughs].”
“There were many lying around, but that one in particular was really cool and stood out,” says Terada. “It was a figure of him swinging around a traffic sign, and we thought it’d be cool to have something wild like that [laughs]. And during the meeting right after, ‘Shall we make it Shizuo?’ was our proposition.”
Finally, Dengeki asks if we’ll be seeing more support characters than playable ones, as the character selection screen seems to hint at that.
Terada: “I’ll leave that to your imagination. [laughs]”
Nonaka: “At the moment, we have a perfect 1:1 ratio of playable and support characters, but in the end, support characters might have… er, huh, there really is a gap in the character selection screen. [laughs]”
Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax will launch spring 2014 in Japanese arcades.

Aww.... I thought Holo would be a main character and not support... Oh well.
Roles for the new Assistshttp://www.siliconera.com/2013/12/10...ghting-climax/Maou Sadao
BoogiepopMaou’s attacks consist of him running up to his target and pulling off speedy attacks. While they tend to have low damage output, if you meet certain conditions, you could unleash his demon lord powers.
HoloBoogiepop’s attack has quite the range, which is also hard to evade; however, there seems to be some sort of catch that can make it a little tricky to use from the start to end of it.
Holo’s supportive skill involves her use of an area-of-effect healing ability, which is put into effect once you approach her healing zone.

http://www.siliconera.com/2014/02/03...ghting-climax/Dengeki recently revealed that Ro-Kyu-Bu!’s star heroine, the Shiny Gift Tomoka Minato, will be joining the ranks of other light novel characters in the upcoming fighter Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax. Here’s a look at some of her moves, along with the other new support characters, courtesy Dengeki Online.
Tomoka Minato (from Ro-Kyu-Bu!):
Hinata Hakamada (from Ro-Kyu-Bu!):She may look small and fragile, but Tomoka has what it takes to keep up with the likes of Shizuo Heiwajima from Durarara!!. Her moves in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax revolve around a variety of tricky attacks that involve getting help from her fellow teammates of the Keishin Academy girl’s basketball club.
Koko Kaga (from Golden Time):Tomoka’s teammate, the “Innocent Charm” Hinata Hakamada, will be joining her in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax as a support character. She’ll be providing support by using a charm effect to have some sort of effect on the opponent’s movement.
Kino (from Kino’s Journey):It is said that Koko will have a splendid appearance when she shows up in the game, and will throw her bouquet of roses as an attack. She also has an attack where she blows a kiss that has an effect of diminishing the target’s super meter.
Mashiro Shiina (from The Pet Girl of Sakurasou):As a support character, Kino will show up with speedy movement and attack with a powerful gunshot. The attack will work against your opponent regardless of whether they’re on the ground or mid-air. After hitting, she rides away on her motorcycle, Hermes.
Erio Towa (from Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko):In Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, Mashiro uses her mysterious ability that allows her to to draw something and have it appear out of thin air. As to how it’ll affect opponents, that’s still a mystery for now.
Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is set to launch in spring 2014 in Japanese arcades.Erio sounds like she will provide support with the use of her futon for offensive and defensive actions. She can wrap the futon around you as a way to guard attacks and can also use it to hit enemies.

http://gematsu.com/2014/02/dengeki-b...onlines-kiritoSword Art Online protagonist Kirito will be a playable character in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, Dengeki Online revealed.
Kirito will make use of powerful sword techniques like “Elucidator” and “Dark Repulser” through a single sword style, but can also dual wield via Climax Arts, as well.
Kirito is not the first Sword Art Online character to appear in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax. Asuna, the series’ main heroine, was confirmed when the game was first announced; and Leafa, the heroine of the ‘Fairy Dance’ arc, is a support character.

http://www.siliconera.com/2014/03/11...ame-character/Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax has light novel characters like Boogiepop from Boogiepop Phantom and Kirito from Sword Art Online. Akira from Virtua Fighter is a boss in the crossover fighting game and Dreamcast, yes the Sega hardware system, may be in the game too.
The opening movie shows a Dreamcast console-tan between Holo from Spice & Wolf and Shizuo Heiwajima from Durarara!!
Lol, they should add the PS3 and Windows-tan so we can play out the console war ;o
