Funny thing about it is that Shana and Asuna share the same seiyuu.

I don't think so...the only FGs Atlus has any hand in are the US release of KOF where they're just a publisher and had nothing to do with the game being made, and P4A where they basically outsourced the entire game to ArcSys.

It's only true for the english dub for Shana. And even then, not for S1, cause they switched.

Shana in S2 and beyond, and Asuna in SAO.

But yeah, for the JP actresses it's false, Asuna is Tomatsu Haruka, and Shana is Kugimiya FUCKING Rie.

Kirino Kousaka & Misaka Mikoto added
Wilhelmina Carmel, Leafa, Kamijou Touma, & Kuroneko support characters confirmed

Sega and Dengeki have confirmed two more characters set to appear in the upcoming fighting game Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.

From Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai comes Kirino Kousaka, and from A Certain Magical Index, Misaka Mikoto.

A group of support characters were also confirmed. There’s Wilhelmina Carmel from Shakugan no Shana, Leafa from Sword Art Online, Kamijou Touma from A Certain Magical Index, and Kuroneko from Oreimo.

The game uses an eight-directional joystick and four button input. A is your weak attack, B your middle attack, and C your strong attack. S brings out your support character. You’ll be able to move, dash, back-dash, and double jump.

    Other game elements include:
    • Impact Skills: A+B, or down+A+B for a special attack.
    • Trump Card: By pressing B+C at the same time, you’ll use one Dengeki mark to send out a powerful attack.
    • Blast: By pressing A+B+C at the same time, you’ll use the Blast Icon to invoke a variety of effects.
    • Extend Action: Pull out regular attacks and certain kill skills. By holding the button, you can change your skills.
    • Potential: Specific skills each characters possess.
    • Climax Gauge: A gauge for super special moves.
    • EX Special Moves: By committing certain kill skills with the S button for a stronger move, your Climax Gauge will decrease by one.
    • Climax Arts: Consume two bars of the Climax Gauge for a super special move.
    • Reflection Guard: By pressing any button while guarding, your Climax Gauge will decrease slightly and your opponent will be forced back.
    • Quick Combination: Mash A to let out an automatic combo.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax will be playable on arcade machines at the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival in Akihabara this Sunday, October 6. A home platform for the game, if any, has yet to be announced.

Continuing from their recent announcement of Mikoto Misaka and Kirino Kosaka as playable characters in Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX, Dengeki Online just revealed two more characters and the first trailer for this crossover title.

Durarara!!’s Shizuo Heiwajima and Kuroyukihime of Accel World fame will be joining the ever-expanding cast as main characters, presumably with series supporters that have yet to be revealed. They, along with each of the other previously-announced fighters, are scheduled to be available October 11-13 during location tests in Japan, so more information is sure to trickle out in the near future.

The article also mentions that the title will be receiving a console release, but platforms and a date are not specified.

I mean, I'm trying not to be "that douchebag" that always complains, but seriously, having grown up watching Anime and playing the games, that single fact is starting to grind on me when it comes to non-AAA titles. The voice acting of, say, Chun Li or Makoto in SF doesn't bother me at all, but hearing girls in just about any other franchise, especially 2D fighters like Melty Blood, where everyone sounds like a clone, is just uggggghhh...

Nevertheless, the game -itself- looks good.

Actual Developers revealed, Sega is just the Publisher
Ecole and French-Bread are the developers behind Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, publisher Sega has revealed.

The studios are known for the development of previous fighting games like Under Night: In-Birth and Melty Blood: Actress Again.

The game is being directed by Sega’s Takaharu Terada, who previously served as director on the original Valkyria Chronicles for PlayStation 3.

Denegki Bunko Fighting Climax will be available in arcades, as well as on an unannounced home console.

    Why the game was created
Dengeki Bunko, known for publishing popular light novels such as Sword Art Online and A Certain Magical Index, are currently collaborating with Sega to make a crossover fighting game called Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, featuring characters from many different series.

During the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival, director Takaharu Terada plus co-producers Ryutaro Nonaka and Juro Watari talked about the upcoming arcade title with 4Gamer.

“While Dengeki Bunko do have many titles that have been made into games, there aren’t actually too many where you can play as their characters in an action-style game,” says Nonaka.

“I think I speak for us all when I say ‘I want to be able to play as Shana, Asuna, Misaka, and Kirino. And ‘I want to pull off that move from that title,’ so that’s why we made it into a fighting game,” added Terada.

Asuna from Sword Art Online or Shizuo from Durarara!! naturally fit into an action-based game or fighter. However, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax will also feature characters such as Kirino Kousaka from Oreimo, who will be quite different from your average brawler.

Terada chimed, “Even for us, we consider it a dream-like fighting game.”

“As you mentioned, Dengeki Bunko titles consist of many character who can fight, but we’re thinking about adding characters who don’t fit that image, appear in the game,” Nonaka teased. “It is truly a dream fight, or a dream match-up, if you will.”

Terada mentions that the concept for the game is to not only have serious battles, but to be able to say “Let’s be excited and fight among each other, as fans!” He would like for the players to consider it as a party for Dengeki Bunko.

Finally, a message from the three, for the fans of Dengeki Bunko.

Ryutaro Nonaka, Co-Producer: “While the game is also considered a ‘character game,’ we’re putting a lot of effort into developing the game itself, so it won’t only be about the character charm. We’ll be revealing more and more characters, so please look forward to our future announcements.”

Takaharu Terada, Director: “I believe that this title will also be interesting to fans of the characters and series, who’ve never even touched a fighting game before. We’re doing our best to make this game not only for the advanced players, but also something that will be easier for beginners to get into, so it’d be nice to see girls and other players give it a try.”

Juro Watari, Co-Producer: “This will be the fourth collaboration between Sega and Dengeki Bunko, and so far the development is looking like it’ll be much better than any of the works before. I know that some may be thinking ‘why a fighting game?’ but to put it simply, the enthusiasm that says ‘we want to make something good!’ is the driving force behind the idea. Please look forward to it!
