He may have been comic relief, but it was glorious. His quests made me laugh so hard in 1.0, I just hope that they can continue bringing the laughs.

In the beginning, the quest line kinda had you feeling a little uncomfortable, so much that you just might skip through the dialogue. Eventually it grows on you and you're literally laughing at your screen while reading the quest dialogue. He has to be the single most memorable character in 1.0, and all that from some half assed quest line that just made it into the game. I can't even remember the reward for the final quest being all that great, some wristlet or earring or something, Mandervil?

Yes, Manderville earrings. Been using them a fair bit in 2.0 in the mid-20s rather then waste time looking for something better.

I look forward to seeing him in SE's next cross-FF mashup game, since all the rest of the characters are either non-combatants, or not very memorable. Though I guess he's not a fighter either. I do wonder what they'll use to represent FF14, besides Gaius.

With all the shit in 2.1 I wish they had released half of that content now and the other half in about 6 weeks time. Would give us more to do than spamming the same crap for the next 6 or so weeks.

It should be pretty obvious they can add more shit faster over-time by releasing them in bigger chunks at a time.

But yeah I'm biased since I'm not running out of shit to do anytime soon and neither is the majority of the playerbase.

Honestly, I feel like Nomura and Tanaka are the same in that as long as they have someone to reign their shit in, its absolutely fine.
If he was still on the team I think that might be a good thing. Just let Yoshi-P stay on top.

What's a Hildebrand and why do people love him?

I don't know, it might be the bgmusic or dialog used, or just how he is in general but every time I did any kind of cutscene/quest with Hilde I get the wtf sense of I'mbeingtrolledbySE and it feels like devs some place are watching me and laughing. I hope he is coming back! I look forward to it.
