Just checked out a buttload of cosplay on Wowhead. Holy shit some of those are incredible.
South park guy got a standing ovation. Which is good since he didn't even get an honorable mention lol. Cat druid should have won imo for being both good and unique. Or the walrus dude, he deserved more than nothing.
So Heroes of the Storm is a LoL knockoff?

Haven't gotten to try it yet. But ya. Kinda looked like a higher graphics quality of DOTA2 (says hubby).
About to watch the live raid. These are always fun.
Heroes of the Storm (notes I've gathered so far from some videos)
-Free to Play
-Much more focus on team play instead of individuals due to how the game is built (no "carries" it seems, & no gold, items, etc).
-Shared experience (if someone somewhere is getting XP, everyone is). Not immediate vicinity.
-No "last hitting" lets people start engaging heroes almost immediately.
-Goal is ~20 minute games
Objective-based maps (You will likely lose if you only focus on hero kills without doing objectives)
Examples:
collecting coins, giving them to an NPC, and he allows you to use his ghost ship to attack the enemy.
Reaching a dragon shrine turns you into a Dragon thing that buffs you like crazy
-Class types: Assassin/Slayer, Support, Healer, Siege (can out-range towers), Specialist, Warrior
-Towers can run out of ammunition
-Gate connects 2 towers, so you can choose to kill both towers, or destroy the gate and bypass them.
-Small towns will be present, in addition to towers.
-3 skills + 1 passive at the start of the game
-Talents (active & passive) that unlock at certain in-game levels
-Talents can increase move speed, attack damage, increase skill range, or even grant a new active skill.
-Unlock "ultimate" skill through talents (level 6?)
-No items, shop, gold
-Mount system for heroes
-Heroes spawn on the mount, dismounted when hit by any damage.
-You can cast while mounted.
-3-second cast to re-mount
-Maps seem to be left-to-right at the moment, but others may be top-bottom and diagonal
-Hearthstone ability (Recall from LoL).
-Skins will likely be the revenue generator

Alliance guild getting raped on second boss, while horde guild steamrolling everything.
midwinter guy told me they were planning to use like 6-7 melee, not surprised if they're failing
my impression of this xpac: lol @ story, but I'm cool with everything but the whole 20 man thing
all casual raiding guilds are completely fucked
10 or 25, doesn't matter, normals (the new "heroic") will just be done via openraid and shit, and nobody's going to make 20 man guilds to down the just a couple bosses the vast majority of guilds get on heroic ("mythic" lol) each tier
I give it a month before they drop it to 10-15 members or scrap the whole idea completely.

Missed the raid info bit saw all tiers will have their own lockouts
@plow they were failing because of tanking the two bosses together instead of separate. It seemed like for the fights they completed they did it faster so iono. Would have been interesting to have seen who would have beaten garrosh faster if they had used the horde strat.

Instead of more spells 90-100 gone give upgrade to core spell
ex. Reduced cast time, store more orbs, etc.
