I did mine about a week ago when they posted the "one week remaining" reminder. I've got so many mules and a system to guarantee several 4th place prizes, and was writing all the numbers into a spreadsheet as I bought them, so it took me the better part of 8 hours to get it all done...

No idea yet what I'd actually choose if I did win big... Probably a Mythic for 1st place and a Cat's Eye for 2nd place.

Issue Re: the Mog Bonanza Prize “Mog Kupon I-RME” (Feb. 12)


We have confirmed an issue wherein players are unable to use the Rank 1 prize “Mog Kupon I-RME” to trade for an item during the I Dream of Mog Bonanza 2014 event from Feb. 12, 2014 at 0:00 (PST).

This issue will be resolved with the version update scheduled for Feb. 18, 2014. We ask that you please refrain from using the Mog Kupon I-RME until then.

The gil prizes are terrible (more than usual).

It could depend on less overall people buying marbles, or more people winning rank1/2/3 prizes.

If someone can find results from previous editions we can undersand what the reason is for those low gil rewards.

I managed to cover all the ones starting in 533 and then for my mules I started with 532... if I would've went up instead of down my mule would have a mythic lol. Instead I get 1 rank 4 on my main account and rank 5s for everyone else.

First Bonanza was 1000g each, but the gil prize wasn't based off of sales.

First one also required you to be at least level 5 to buy them.

While it's no big surprise really, I was kinda shocked how few winners there were, only 1.4m marbles sold and @ 10 per person, @ 2-3 mules per person.

140,000 players and the average is 2 accounts per person, (since so many tri/quad etc) there's really only like 40,000 players across all worlds left?

Could also be burnout from all the stupid campaigns they've been running lately. I didn't buy any marbles on any of my characters because the slim chance of a worthwhile reward isn't worth inventory -70 at this point.

The low rewards were total crap this time
The rank 1 rewards still werent even anywhere near finished weapons. I'm sure that factors in.

Memoirs (ok, still not the best, but back then XP didnt flow like water either and was a popular way to get lowbie jobs up)


The top rewards at the time were great, and even rank 4 made it worthwhile, even if you won on a mule (khroma and hide was about 400k back then).

2009:
R1:
Ridill, Kraken, Odin weapons, Fitsuno, Salvage bodies, gil, Novio, Defending

R4:
Khroma, Behe Hide, Ori Ingot

R5:
Memoirs, statues, useless BC's

Once again, R4 was worth a good chunk of gil, and R5 introduced the statues.


2014:

Kraken, Defending, 10,000 piece, RME90, RME99->119 item
You arent even getting a fucking finished RME, in fact its so fucking useless at that stage, you're still going to have to burn through a decent chunk of gil JUST to make it usable.

R4:
Skillup earring/ring, BB items, some shitty kupons, SKC10/20 orb, Stats or login point costume items
Nothing in here offers anything of gil value, like the ones in the past did. SKC orbs arent dboxable, so if you get it on a mule, you cant take that (unless you bring that mule to BC). The Kupons arent worth gil, except the skirm3 item (a dismal 70k on carby).

R5:
Statues that we've been getting for the past god knows how many times and all have, shitty BC's, Salv 1 item, kupon for ONE skillbook (I got rank 5 and all I got was .1 blue magic skill yay), REM ch.1-5 x1


Its just total garbage compared to the previous ones.

I only keep doing it because I'm hoping one of these times I will actually get rank 3. I mean I do sequentials numbers to garuntee at least a rank 4 since the very first one where I had to level those new mules to 5.... and still haven't gotten a rank 3
