I can't speak for Europe and Japan, but at least with SoCal it seems like several companies use the path that take you to Tata Communications where the throttling is happening.

I'm in Melrose and on FiOS, I don't have this problem seemingly.

Because even a total scrub at some point would notice routers often have higher ping than the host you are using traceroute/mtr/whatever on. This is because of how routers work.

Furthermore I have double the ping to the address you used mtr on, go through level3 all the way from dallas to montreal, and have no lag or problems at all.

Another fun but useless fact. The average user's computer takes longer to render a single frame during Titan's plume animation than it does to ping SE and receive a response. (20fps is 50ms per frame, 10fps is 100ms per frame).

You know one person you could try calling? Ormuco. They seem like a small enough company you might be able to get them on the phone and if you're nice they would easily be able to contact the level3 guys in montreal to check it out. Before you do that, collect some route information from people that have no in game lag and then collect route information from people that have in game lag that wtffast was able to solve.

There is nothing retarded about the statement. You don't know the quality of a single link, and if verizon was tagging ff14 traffic as p2p you don't have any way to know.

I thought everyone already concluded that the traffic was being flagged as p2p anyways.

Either way, if the loss occurs with an MTR as well, that wouldn't be throttled and flagged as p2p.

Fuck, at this point I don't think anyone but SE and their provider can fix the issue.

WTFast trial just ended. Does Pingzapper and battleping both have disconnect timers? Figure I'd just go ahead and pay a sub fee, but I'm not sure which one I should be buying.

Tried pingzapper and attempted a Titan HM run to check how well it worked.

Ate three plumes in one fight and closed the game. Gonna go ahead and buy a WTFast sub, but kinda pissed I'm having to drop an additional $6 a month.

IM gonna say pingzapper was not very stable for me either alot of lag spikes compared to WTFast which I tried previously, it was much better. Im on the West coast if it matters.

Just as a note, did you turn it on? I know that sounds retarded, but there's a button you've got to switch once you load it, and you have no idea how many people I know don't realize that.

Yea it was on. It disconnected me from that same fight and I had to reconnect.

It will do that whether you have the button on or not. Friend had to keep restarting the trial like 20 times before I pointed that out to him. XD

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.

I've had really bad lag in all duty finder and party content. In titan, after ability, he would freeze for a couple seconds. This made it extremely hard as a healer.

I installed wtfast last night and tried it out for 3 hours. Experienced no lag whatsoever in duty finder. I even tested by evading red circles literally last millisecond and it registered as misses.

Checked out the performance percentages at the end of the night and the Ping spike went from 211 down to 50 using wtfast. I live in New York, but tested it on a Montreal server. Gonna try a different location next time I play. All other pings decreased from mid to low 30s down to high 20s. The spike was the most noticeable though.

I would stick to the Montreal server because thats where the game servers are.
