Homophobia is bad, and in Russia an ultra-conservative country, it is even worse with near legalized persecution of homosexuals.

Just finished watching it. It's amazing how aggressors feel so entitled and self righteous when they have the church and the state behind them. It gets to the point where they even argue that the very existence of gay people is a provocation to christians to act in violence.
speaking of which, Vice did a documentary series about this topic, I think it was called "Being Gay in Putin's Russia", check those out, Vice makes awesome docs.
