This. So much this. Grew up going to them in the 80's. So many classics. I can still walk tot he local pizza joint and pop a few quarters into Ms. Pac Man to get the feels back. Besides that? In no particular order.
FFXI: For many or the reasons others have listed, but mostly because I'm still close friends with many of the people I met along the way.
FF Tactics: Loved the story and music so damn much.
Pretty much anything on SNES, but A Link to the Past, FF 2 and 3 (IV and VI) Chrono Trigger, and Super Metroid are at the top of my list for that console.
The original Legend of Zelda and Dragon Warrior are games I still pop in from time to time when I dig the original NES out. Can't beat the classics. Long live Tecmo Bowl and Bo Jackson.
It's great to have such great memories of the old days when I had time to game all night. Growing up can really suck sometimes.
When I was stationed in San Diego just a few years ago, the Bowling Alley across from where I was working had an arcade with SFA 3, Guilty Gear XX, MVC 2, and Tekken 3 machines.
Was goddamn heaven on every lunch break.
Speaking of arcade games. I used to go to the beach with my friends and play Gauntlet Dark Legacy all day.
Aside from the obvious ones like FFs, Chrono Trigger and the like:
Breath of Fire 3. I remember being a kid and thinking that splicing together dragon genes to make your own dragon form was like the coolest goddamn thing in the world. Plus Weretiger.
Legend of Dragoon. Epic story, epic moves, moar dragons.
Buck Bumble. Just a fantastic game all around, unique concept and awesome guns and dat theme song.
Banjo Kazooie. THE best platformer for the N64. Super Mario 64 was great but BK is just pure nostalgia bomb.
Rush: 2049. I would spend hours on the stunt courses trying to maximize flips and land them.
Halo. The first time you do that final escape on the last level was something I'll remember for the rest of my life.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors. nuff said.
Starcraft/Brood War. Loved the story and units, loved the custom maps.
.hack games. All of them. So much time sunk into these.
Xenosaga games, all of them. I don't get the hate for 2, these were gold.
Oddworld Games, all of them. *farts* hehehe
I'm sure I'll think of more.
wtf, no. go dad, you always kill Magus. And you do it solo as Frog in style every time. Except for the times to get all endings and play with some of the spiffy Rocks and Triple Techs, but that's it. That's the alternate ending. Frog fucks Magus up in the real deal. ;o
also, sup Fairy folks. You cocksuckers.
You mean sylph transplants. hehehehe
I wasn't a huge fan of FF10. The leveling system was fun and the battle system was pretty good too. But I wasn't a fan of Tidus really, and maybe it has something to do with me not liking water a lot. Over all I think it's still a fun game but it doesn't compare to FF9 to me. I've played 9 so many times, I never unlocked the secret weapon for Steiner. It's like Ragnarok II or something like that, you have to get to the end of the game in under 20 hours I think. I did beat Ozma rather effortlessly on one of my playthroughs though.

The good ol' days Ruke...
No Aurik, these were the good old days on Asura.
Fuck that shit. After like 2 months of doing salvage I was 14/15 just missing my fucking 35 gloves that would NEVER drop. Gave up after like 2 more months, sever hoped and they dropped for my old group 2 runs later
1. FFXI - played over 8 years and I still miss it. I hear a song on the radio and it reminds me of XPing.
2. D2 - maxed all characters and I have a permanent mouse callous on my finger.
3. FFVII
4. Chrono trigger
5. DC universe online
1) XI
2) Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow (Online with friends on the first XBOX)
3) Diablo II
4) FFVI
5) Super Mario RPG
God I miss the arcade scene. Saturday afternoons with all of $20 in my pocket, but no obligations to anyone.
So many hours spent with a quarter on a machine, waiting to get a chance to try to take out the other guy. Getting my ass beat but picking up a few things in the process, and then the win streak that made it all feel worthwhile.
Fuck.
