Can't fucking wait.
MFW watching those gameplay vids and the new trailer
Arkham Knight comics just started too, so getting more hyped.
Scarecrow being voiced by John Noble is just the icing on the cake.
All my fucking want
If any of you needed any more of a reason to think Kotaku is a complete joke of a website:
Not going to link it, or even click on it myself, I just saw mention of it in the reddit comments for the trailer but apparently Kotaku has decided to shit all over the trailer by claiming Scarecrow can't be the mastermind behind anything because "he's too lame" and that he's one of the worst Batman villains (this is actually in the fucking title).
Not only that but it looks to be their main article breaking the news of the trailer, not just an opinion side piece.
Basically fuck those people. Scarecrow is awesome, and I'm glad he's not just a sideshow this time around. Scarecrow can get into some seriously dark shit, especially with the M rating now.
Black Mask looked like he'd be a main villain and look how that turned out. People need to shut up and play the game before they hate on who's in or who's leading.
Really though, Arkham Knight looks to be the game's mastermind, not Scarecrow..
And on that topic, who do you guys think is behind the mask? I'd have said Thomas Elliot based on his minor appearance in Arkham City, but the Arkham Knight has already shown up in the comic, which is the same night as the events of City, sooooooo..
Obviously the joker.
Just kidding I have no idea.
Fuck, man. I'd be so pissed if it somehow turned out to be Joker, or Joker is behind it all. I don't know if it's cause TDK, Death of the Family, and the Arkham games all came out around the same time, but I'm sick of the Joker.
Kinda hoping it's Jason Todd. IIRC he took on an armored version of Batman in a post Death of Batman story arc. There's also the Red Hood pre-order DLC and I'm not sure how he would factor into the storyline other than this.
Arkham Knight is going to be a result of the Scarecrow's drugs taking hold of Batman's psyche, and it's actually Batman going around destroying Gotham.
In the comic, Joker's still on a table in the morgue (or on his way there) and the Knight has already shown up. I agree though, Joker needs to stay dead.
I thought Todd would make sense too (especially given the Knight's first scene in the comic), but the DLC makes me doubt it's him. Then again, he does say he knows Batman very well..
Full ESRB description:
“This is an action-adventure game in which players primarily assume the role of Batman as he battles several villains spreading chaos across Gotham City. Players traverse a variety of locations around Gotham while battling thugs, examining crime scenes, and occasionally rescuing hostages. Players engage in melee-style combat using punches, kicks, and gadgets (e.g., batarangs, explosives).
“Enemies cry out in pain when struck, and some takedowns are highlighted by brief slow-motion effects and loud impact sounds. Some sequences allow players to use tank-like vehicles with machine gun turrets and rockets to shoot enemies; a vehicle’s wheels are also used to torture an enemy in one sequence. Cutscenes depict characters getting shot (on and off camera) while restrained or unarmed. Large bloodstains/pools of blood appear in crime scenes and in the aftermath of violent acts; one room depicts a person torturing a character on a bloody operating table.
“During the course of the game, players can shoot unarmed characters and a hostage. Neon signs in a red-light district read “live nude girls” and “XXX.” The words “b*tch,” “gobsh*te,” and “a*s” appear in the dialogue.”
fuck yeah, gobshite
so how good must rocksteady be to have the ability to look at their publishers and flat out say "no, games not ready, we want it better" and delay it what, like three times?
I wonder what they will do after this, there must be a line of companies just begging them to take their licensed product and do something with it.
Also, I was sure this was the Unreal 4 engine and it turns out its unreal 3? Shit man, makes me wonder how much better it could have looked on PC if they werent having to develop it for last gen consoles and stuff. I really hope it has a benchmark, I want to make my computer cry with the awesome.
uhh thats... a thing
