Renewing IP lease

Is there an alternate way to change your lease settings without typing in the gateway into the browser? I work away from home, and the camp I stay in decided to change something in the last day or so, and the lease renews every 30 minutes, but it kicks me from everything in the process. It won't let me login to the router settings, so I'm constantly opening up command prompt and 'ipconfig /renew' every little while. It's a pain in the ass, but can I change my settings anywhere else aside from logging into the router? I'm on Windows 8.

Would making a batch script that automatically runs every so often solve your problem? You can do that locally.

Seems like ipconfig /renew doesn't work either, I just r0 out of FFXI now. I'll look into a batch script after work.

Running a script wouldn't even work if I can't even renew it manually. Fack, if I could only get into the router settings I could adjust it...any other way to do this?

If the people running it are terrible you should be able to do an ipconfig to get your gateway IP, put that IP into your browser, find the model of the router and google the default u/p for it, login and fix shit.

I wonder if setting a static IP on your end would fix the issue?

The connection times out when I try the IP. If I could at least get on that way I could have changed my lease settings to something other than 30 minutes.
