They did say that the completed Zodiac weapons would come down the line but I wonder if the Animus versions of the weapons are worth using in 2.2 over, say, the Weathered (eventually unweathered) Weapons.

Well, shit. 900 mobs is a little different than 100. That's actually quite a bit of work, which is understandable, albeit a little frustrating. I enjoyed how non-grindy this game felt compared to others. Oh well.

I often find myself wanting to play the game, but can't find anything meaningful to do. I went into 2.0 with almost everything level 50, but I know there are others in the same boat as me. I'm excited about the weapon trials, even if they are kind of grindy. I don't mind working towards something, even if it takes awhile, so long as I can see tangible progress each time I work on it.

Enemies was only one of the four categories for each trial. There's also dungeons, FATEs and Guildleves. I dunno if this is "1500 killshots with a dark based weapon skill on undead mobs" level of grindy, but I can see why he said most won't finish by 2.25.

I think it's a better progression route than relic to relic+1. That was way too easy to get for a ilvl90 weapon

From what I understand from the patch notes is you can't even start the quest/buy the book to start working towards Atma unless the weapon is zenith'd

Correct...you need to have completed quests x, y, and z and be equipped with a Zenith weapon to even accept the quest.

Are these not a different set of tokens? I thought that's why they had (Soldiery) after them.

Atma of the Maiden - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in the Central Shroud.
Atma of the Scorpion - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in southern Thanalan.
Atma of the Water-bearer - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in upper La Noscea.
Atma of the Goat - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in the East Shroud.
Atma of the Bull - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in eastern Thanalan.
Atma of the Ram - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in middle La Noscea.
Atma of the Twins - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in western Thanalan.
Atma of the Lion - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in outer La Noscea.
Atma of the Fish - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in lower La Noscea.
Atma of the Archer - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in the North Shroud.
Atma of the Scales - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in central Thanalan.
Atma of the Crab - The crystallized soul of a formiddable foe felled in western La Noscea.

I'm guessing "obtain each atma while wearing equipped zenith weapon bla bla..."

They are different. Rowena Tokens (Soldiery) cost 130 Sold.
