I have eaten solo on war just thrill of battle and IB, but Im wondering how much mitigation helps. If vengeance is enough alone etc.
Also just really need IB for charge which is always up.

I see we're having split Coil threads going.
Moved to proper
Ah i forgot there's this thread
so, after a few DF runs on T6, I'm ready to move to 7 and 8
Since the adjustment of difficulty, is there quick bullet pointers for me as tank/offtank for 7 and 8? and 9 too i guess but that's not been touched so ...
All I find are huge walls of text that I really don't want to read too much into lol
I don't care if other people screw up, but I at least want to do my part good. Through tanking I'll learn DPS tactics myself
Haven't done 8, but 7 is pretty simple.
For OT, it's mainly just being in the right place to grab first set of adds which starts spawning at ~79% and final add which pops at ~35%, while not voicing anyone and avoiding petrifaction for the latter, otherwise DPS away. Assuming where Melusine is usually tanked is 12 o'clock first add in first set spawns at where 3 would be/entrance to the arena, second in that set spawns ~11 o'clock, and third in that set spawns at ~7 o'clock. Final add pops around where 9 o'clock would be.
MT is mainly just not voicing Melusine and healers, and moving when the purple shit is on the outer ring so as to not cleave anyone and let melee hit flank/rear and focus targeting the final add so you know when it's charging Petrifaction I guess.
loving the nerf haha, I was doing 555 dps as nin on t8, and that was with me doing my own dancing edge.
Turn 8 is barely any different. Sure you probably won't wipe to a (single) missed landmine anymore, but you still have to perform all the mechanics. Turn 6 isn't as different as some make out, they just made Bouquet not one-shot (unless you have a few stacks) and removed the possibility of a bad phase change.
Turn 7 I'll give you was butchered beyond recognition.
Off tanking T7 is stupid simple, as others have said. What makes it difficult is your DPS. Adds killed before the next spawns? Easiest OT job ever. The DPS suck and you have to try to pickup the newly spawned add while the other is still alive? OMG WORST TANK EVAR.
Thanks for the tips. I've read a basic strat so I'll just go in there and wing it I guess. So just pick up adds and dance with it... shouldn't be too bad haha
Took me 1 wipe to learn 6! Though the group was nice enough to explain very quickly to me.
If you can, just ask to MT T7 first off. You have to do essentially nothing (just turn when the Cursed Voice debuff is about to expire on you), ask them to mark where to tank it and you just kind of keep the boss right there the entire fight. It's no fun but it'll ideally give you a chance to make a mental note of when and where to expect adds to spawn, so when you do OT it you wont just be going in blind.
Be careful though as you run the risk of passing out from boredom MTing T7 and you might voice your party occasionally.
That's why I make sure to hit my macro with every <call> in one line every time voice gets cast.
Should be solo tanking T7. More fun, more dps and less zzzz
Anyone have a trick for DB calling on T9 (for the lolpugs strats)?
My Alt is on T9 and on Hyperion they always make tank Mark for DB, and i honestly never paid attention as a healer
-Have a marker for north, at all times
-Look north and go clockwise; the first 2 dragons you see will dive first (so put first DB between them). A dragon at north counts as one of the 2.
-Other dragon dives last; put DB "clockwise"/north of it.
Put marker A where first one goes, put marker B where second one goes.
Look north then go clockwise and the first 2 dragons you see will be the first ones to dive. For pugs I usually mark both the first divebomb location and the second so I don't give them the option of not knowing where to go for either. With my normal group, I just mark the first divebomb of each pattern before the fight starts and let them place the second divebomb themselves.
edit: am slow
