This is true.

From the game itself:

Mutamix will perform materia transmutation for you at any time, free of charge. Bring the goblin five pieces of unwanted materia, and he will transmute them into a single new piece to use as you see fit.
That said, materia transmutation remains an inexact science. As for what manner of materia will emerge each time Mutamix works his wonders, not even the goblin genius himself can say.

Sucks having to go to Mutamix to do it, but w/e I'll take it. I don't have enough materia to try it now unfortunately.

You have to kill nearly everything in Brayflox at least, where-as the rest which they nerfed, you just slept/sac-pulled and locked out with the boss gate.

Everyone could access WP/AK speed runs regardless of jobs. Right now if you're not BLM/BRD you're out of luck as a DPS.

This was touched on in another thread, but nearly any comp can do the first two bosses in under 10m if they know what they're doing. It's a lot of "I read reddit so that makes me just as good as the good players" idiots remembering blm+brd from WP and assuming that's the magic combo. Imitation versus innovation.

Kicking myself for offloading probably 40-50 useless rank 1 elementals when they increased the vendor price. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN.

This is also nice. Was tired of losing XP because I turned in supply quest shit on 50 and "relied" on the XP just automatically going to the other job.

BRD+BLM or BLM+BLM do it in 5.
