This is the first and only anime I have watched since I was 12. I think it's interesting and all but I would like it a lot better if they turned the pedophilia to 0 as opposed to 10.

Not watching anime since however many years for you will do that. The anime style have changed over the years (various-degree-wise) so you may not have build enough tolerance for whatever amount of pedophilia you consider there are. No Game No Life is tame compared to other stuff.

Honestly, it's irrelevant.

It's all about how many extra Light Novels or Blurays it shifts. TV and popularity rankings don't mean much ( although obviously the more popular shows are more likely to sell better - but not always - anime with fanservice where the BR has "uncensored" versions of scenes tend to shift a lot of units ).

Also Japan has shit tier taste, so yeah.
