it's efficient as hell. farming Broly in the Heated Furious Ultimate Battle for exp takes like 30ish seconds.

Pretty much this. Trying to melee AI in PVE is a nightmare and I already switched from strike/attack based to Ki based because fuuuuuck some of the bullshit they throw at you. Freeza's z-soul that gives unlimited Ki after you get KO'd (and revives you for free if you do) makes some of the bullshit fun. Feels bad to spam Ki on AI but they started it. At least in PVP I can wreck some face with melee.

Hmm so if this game is just a spam fest of hitting the same move over and over I may have to pass. While I would love some nostalgia of DBZ I'd rather not hit the same move over and over again until I win, that's rather boring. I guess I'm waiting till the price drop.

Just disconnect the internet for a while and it'll work fine (you can reconnect once you get in). It's stupid design and annoying but connecting isn't required.

Only if you want to play it like that. I usually just fight however I want and only when I do offline solo against bullshit (3vs1, AI super/ultimate/escape spam, super armour, escort etc) do I do my bullshit. When doing quests online with other people you can 100% fight the way you want.

Though even saying that spamming seems boring it's way more satisfying that you would imagine.

Yeah it is still fun even though you would do the same moves sometimes, I don't think the price will get reduced for a while but I'd say its definitely a good buy. There is decent RPG elements to it with customizing your character and leveling and stuff, so if that is something you enjoy its there. Only annoying thing for me atm is the online play but I hear they are working on that? Annoying to team up with people and crash mid fight.

Freedom is never a bad thing. You have the choice to play like that, or any other myriad of ways. Some people use that strat, and it can be countered. Some people go all melee, and it can be countered. Most anything can be countered. Play how you want, but don't look a game negatively for having choices.
