So he finally becomes Green Arrow officially this season?
Nice.
Really hoping Arsenal comes back to team up with Speedy

That would be my guess, too. Have either of the boys wrestled since then?
Golddust has been out following a shoulder surgery for awhile now. Cody (as Stardust) has worked some, but he's mostly been kept off TV since Dusty died.
Constantine coming to Arrow officially for a one episode appearance
Matt Ryan was perfectly cast as Constantine. Even if the show itself was a letdown more of him is a good good thing. Him showing up here opens him up to dropping in the other series as well
How good is this show for somebody who has no prior exposure to the DC universe, outside of the recent Superman and Batman movies? Reviews have all been great, but how does it stand on its own?
I enjoy it thoroughly, but apart from Smallville and the Superman and Batman movies, my exposure to DC is pretty minimal. Well, it was; it got me interested, and I've since watched some of the Justice League and Young Justice series, and read some more of the DC universe stuff.
It's interspersed with faux angst and teenage drama that doesn't seem to fit folks of the age of (most of) the main characters, but past those (and as a CW show, they should be expected as price of admission), it's very solid. Season one started off kinda slow, but picks up, and seasons 2 and 3 were excellent mind-candy-- nothing hugely deep or super-DRAMA, but very high on the pure entertainment scale.
I honestly hate most DC movies, have never read any comics, and yet I really enjoy the DC universe being set up on TV. This and Flash go really well together, even though they are both very different. Their stories do cross paths a few times (but I don't think this happens until like season 3 of Arrow? Whenever they start introducing Barry Allen anyways), so if you end up enjoying this I would definitely watch Flash as well.
edit: I probably wouldn't start Flash until after though, it does have some spoilers related to Arrow if you start it first.
I could easily recommend the first two seasons to anyone provided they have the patience to get through the slow-ish start to season one. Season three however... I really don't know. I had a hard time keeping my interest up.
It becomes less and less about superhero shyte the more it goes on. Season three was truly terrible to me.
Flash is Killing it though.
Spoiler: show
I did think season 3 had some good stuff, but yeah probably the weakest so far. Might be better marathoning it though. Other 2 seasons I didn't watch when the show was current.
For the most part I've always disliked DC comics and only ever liked Marvel. Batman and Superman have always bored me to death with the exception of the old Batman Animated series. That said, even though I'm Marvel only, last year I was bored and had nothing to watch on Netflix so I binged the first 2 seasons of Arrow and became an instant fan. That said, I also scoffed at the Flash for the same reason, but checked it out and that show is easily the best superhero show on right now.
My current rankings: Flash > S.H.I.E.L.D. > iZombie > Arrow (but I love all these shows so much I actually watch them live with commercials, I just can't wait to stream)
Thanks, guys. I'll check it out after I finish Humans and maybe Orphan Black.
Season 4 trailer. Blackneto is bad....
oh baby neal mcdonough, might make me start watching the show again
